Visited Amber Ox for the first time. Stopped in for a beer one afternoon and saw some dishes going out to diners and decided we should try it. We put reservations in on a Thursday for Saturday evening. Reservations are suggested. We tried several dishes...More

For a newly opened brewery, the beer is surprisingly good - what you'd expect from a mature brewery. The food is more than a bonus, it's a good reason to visit even if you don't like beer. In addition to being a brewery, Amber Ox...More

Believe it or not this micro-brew was actually recommended to us by another restaurant in Williamsburg. We recently visited and were greatly impressed. The menu is unique and varied. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. It is off the beaten path a bit from...More

Excellent service, craft beers and menu. I ordered salt & vinegar pork rinds to start, and while some were nice and crispy, about half of them were hard as a rock. Thee AO Burger was spectacular, but the first one brought to the table was...More

This is a fun place to eat and drink. We have been twice and both times sat at the communal tables in the bar. The beer flight is very good. And they have a different selection of beers all the time. We also had sandwiches...More

We discovered after a long day at Colonial Williamsburg that we should probably put more though in to where we might have dinner. Colonial Williamsburg was a bit crowded and it seemed that all the restaurants were full. We had eyed Amber Ox as we...More

This is definitely a must visit for Williamsburg. Locally owned and operated by folks that really know their craft. We tried to visit for dinner and there was an hour wait, so we went today for lunch to see if it was really worth the...More

This is a cool brewpub, but the food exceeded our expectations. The beer was great and there was a large selection of their own brews as well as partner selections available in both the bar area and restaurant. There was free parking on the street...More

Description
The Amber Ox team has a passion for great beer, an obsession with delicious local food, and an unwavering dedication to providing unforgettable customer experiences. In our on site brewery, Precarious Beer Project, we produce our own meticulously crafted beers inspired by the seasons. As a brewpub, we also serve some of our regions best craft beers that compliment in our own in house brewing efforts. And, yes, we’re a restaurant, but we’re not your average restaurant either. Here, you’ll discover a mix of eclectic, elevated and unexpected dishes — many of which pay ode to classic Southern fare. But with a contemporary twist. We place a spotlight on crafting fresh seasonal dishes that feature the best regionally sourced produce and ingredients available. Put simply, the inspired food on our menu is prepared with finesse but no pretense.
