Have been a patron for decades. Was very disappointed on trip of Nov 27, 2016. Buffet was not well prepared and certainly not up to what was once "outstanding". Meal was overpriced and far from the quality we expected. The service was also very poor. Will never make a trip again. This was once a destination point for our out... More

Buffet was very disappointing. Go to KFC for mois chicken. Canned vegetables..non descriptive desserts. Extra for beverages

This very popular restaurant is a little off the beaten path. There are many peanut possibilities for taking home or giving as gifts. The food is ok, but nothing special. If you order the famous peanut pie and ice cream ask that it not be reheated in the microwave as it makes the peanuts texture a little rubbery. The slider-type... More

Stopped on the way to the OBX and had their buffet. The fried chicken was excellent! A good assortment of hometown Southern food. I noticed service was slow at some tables but of course I had no problem.

Located in the "Peanut Capital of the World" - Wakefield, Virginia. This restaurant has been in existence since 1929. Serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. Huge menu choices with many recipes that fall into the Southern comfort food category - Virginia ham and Southern fried chicken, and don't pass up the biscuits. Gift shop has peanuts galore as well as other... More

Stop on my trip east, made a late lunch. Had the ham and tomato sandwich. The only thing bad I could say was, it was just to big for me. But I ate all of the sandwich. Will stop on the way down next time.

Neat historic diner with good food at a good price. Try the onion rings they are delicious. Would definitely come back if ever in the neighborhood again.

I had read the Trip Advisor reviews, so when the opportunity came to go, I was looking forward to it. I was certainly not disappointed! The buffet was absolutely delicious, with every Southern dish you'd ever want! The candied carrot casserole (a dish I'd never had) was over the top! Their fried chicken was perfection--light, crispy crust, juicy, flavorful meat!... More

With half of parking lot closed, longest wait line ever. Much better on weekend when they are busy. Did have a buffet which helped.

We had the buffet with lots of southern choices- fried fish, fried chicken, collards, sweet potato casserole, etc. Really good, service is average. Not my grandma's cooking, but had a nice dinner here.
