We went here first for breakfast one morning. Their breakfast was actually quite good and that convinced us we should try them for dinner one afternoon. The dinner was very average, with no highlights to speak of. Food was good, but nothing special. So, for future visits to the area, we are going to remember this for Margie and Ray's;... More

Stopped in for supper as part of a group of 12. Our server Emily was great. She served the entire group with a smile and without making a single mistake. We had ribs and an assortment of seafood items. The food was fantastic. The price was more than reasonable and the service impeccable. I would recommend this place to anybody... More

We visit Va Beach each year in the early summer and this is our very favorite restaurant. They have an unbelievable breakfast. The seafood here is excellent.the she crab soup is the best I've ever had. The local fish, shrimp, scallops and crab is always good. The Margie Hurricane platter is a variety of all of their fried seafood and... More

This is not a chain restaurant just a country, old time family restaurant. Nothing fancy but comfortable and relaxing. We ordered up a beer and cocktails then the food. I had crabcakes because I've been here several times before and can't resist. Almost had the blackened rockfish, but friend did. My wife had the shrimp like always. Great friendly service.... More

This place makes me think of Diners, Driveins, and Dives. Stopped in last Wednesday for lunch. My wife ordered soft shell crab, Grandson ordered clam strips, and I had fried oysters. I started off with she crab soup, not the best but still pretty good. Wife said she liked the soft shell crab, with it's broccoli and fries sides. Grandson... More

My family went for breakfast and found it very satisfying. We had our 6 & 3 yr old and infant with us, and the two older boys enjoyed their meals completely. I ordered the "Hangover" platter, cubed potatoes, choice of bacon, ham or sausage, 2 eggs (your way), with sausage gravy & cheese, layered on a platter. It was really... More

Wait can be long to be seated, but worth it. Platters are the way to go, to sample it all and feed 3-4 people.

Parking lot was full so that is always a good sign. Service was friendly but busy. Never got my water refilled and needed it because burger was really salty. Ask for crispy bacon and it wasn't on my burger. Asked again and when it arrived, it was not crispy. My husband ate it. Asked for extra onion and got 3... More

Found ourselves in need of takeout for dinner and decided to give Margie and Ray's a try. We ordered salad, soup and a variety of entrees. Sea crab soup and crab cake very good. Generous portions. Meals prepared in a very timely manner. Would dine there again.

First visit for dinner. Ordered all you can eat crab legs. They were supposed to be served with butter that turned out to be yellow seawater. Crab legs were old and over steamed. For $35 I can go to Captain George's and have better legs with better butter and a great buffet with dessert for the same price and I... More

Description
Margie and Ray’s Restaurant was established in 1964 as a small country store and tackle shop which was owned and operated by Ray and Margie Blanton. This landmark building located on a dirt road, now known as Sandbridge Road, served as a convenience for local Sandbridge residents. The store was passed on to their son Thomas in 1997 where it was renovated into a small seafood restaurant. Over the past several years Margie and Ray’s has become known as one of the top seafood establishments in the southern end of Virginia Beach. It continues to be operated by Thomas Blanton.
