Visits to Steinhilbers are always good. The Shrimp is always OUTSTANDING and highly recommended. I had Prime Rib this visit and it just melted in my mouth. Prices continue to cost more?

Steinhilber's is a reliable restaurant for good food, whether for a dinner with a couple of friends or a business gathering of 50-75 people. The owners have done a lot to upgrade it without losing the flavor of the long-time waterfront restaurant. The basement, which is often used for business gatherings or educational programs, has been way updated! 2 huge... More

After moving here in 2011, I had heard nothing but excellent comments about Steiny's (as it is called by the locals.). So I tried it when I received an invitation to dinner from a retirement investment firm - figured I had nothing to lose. Was not impressed with the food but figured it wasn't a true test of a restaurant.... More

My husband surprised me for our anniversary and took me to this place. It was amazing from the person who waited on us, the food, meeting the owner. Best steaks we have ever tasted and cooked to perfection. I had some oysters and they were awesome! The perfect date night!

This was about our thirtieth visit to this outstanding local Va Beach restaurant that has been here since '39. If you want a nice dining experience for you and your special someone, then you cannot miss this restaurant. It isn't a touristy place since it is nestled in a residential subdivision. Service from Mike, our server, could not have been... More

My girlfriend and I had a simply wonderful evening here. You drive up through a quiet neighborhood to a dimly let parking lot, kind of romantic. There are a lot of lights everywhere which also adds to the atmosphere. We opted to sit outside at one of the firepit tables which was a perfect choice for us. There was just... More

We had a wonderful dinner with visiting family. The shrimp were of course excellent as always. The special fish entrée kingclip was a hit. I had the short rib special extremely tender and delicious. Betsy had grilled flounder. The cream brulee and apple pie were excellent. Always special for out of town guest. Reservations are highly recommended. The new outdoor... More

Take with a grain of salt the good reviews this place has had. Even the most amateur chef understands a medium rare steak shouldn't come out well done. Merely average taste profiles, cold food and everest size prices led us to a night of disappointment. When all asked if we would return the overwhelming answer was "No" from the entire... More

Don't give up on your GPS. It is at the end of the road in a residential area. Parking is plentiful but not well lit. The restaurant looks like an over extended chalet bungalow with huge decking areas and fire pit tables for do it yourself BBQ-ing. Inside the baronial hall complete with fireplace, the tables are impressively laid with... More

I hadn’t been to Steinhilber’s for several years. But when one of my favorite restaurants in town was closed (moving to a new location), I thought I’d give “Steiny’s” a shot. The place has this feel of being stuck in time – male waiters with white jackets in a room that has the feel of a lobby with a fireplace... More
