Visited Steiny's last year and returned this year to find a pleasant addition to their already great menu. The Chefs tasting menu! 6 courses with choice of 2 different appetizers and 4 entrees. The Poke tuna app was, as my wife stated " to die for". She opted for the fried shrimp entrée and I had the soft shells. Dinner... More

White jacketed servers, and plenty of them milling around to make sure all customers are well cared for. A comfy dining room, lovely views of the river, fantastic shrimp, rich pecan pie with delicious bourbon/vanilla ice cream, perfect cocktails - what a fun, relaxing, excellent meal! The potatoes were a little on the cold side, but if that's the worst... More

So I come here frequently, mainly for work dinners and have never had a bad meal. I guess that is also because I order the shrimp each time. I hold all other fried shrimp to Steinhilbers standards and most are a PALE comparison. Do not miss this gem.

A beautiful setting in a quiet neighborhood. The waitstaff attentive and helpful. The fan tailed shrimp are the best I have ever eaten! The boneless New York strip was delicious if a huge portion. A misunderstanding with the way it was cooked was handled discreetly and promptly. My mistake was treated with a quiet and quick respectful response (I believed... More

Ate dinner there last night what a disappointment for $129 for two people. Bread was dried out, the salmon was not any better than if you bought it in the grocery store carried it home and baked it with skin on and did not cut out the dark blood line. The flounder special was ok but I have had better... More

Steiny's has always had class and style and except for a burp with a new executive chef some years ago, superb local seafood. We have been semi-regular diners there since 1981. My wife and I went there for a celebratory dinner with friends who were in town for the weekend. I have always loved the crab-stuffed shad roe seasonally there;... More

The wife and I went here on Valentine's Day weekend, after I had been there for a work dinner. Very disappointed in the service, food and overall experience. It's a shame, because my previous experience was very positive with very attentive waitstaff and top-notch food and drinks. Our server was nonexistent and only time we saw her was to take... More

My wife and I went to this restaurant for dinner to celebrate 35 years of marriage and came away disappointed. We had a reservation and were seated promptly but it went downhill from there. We ordered appetizers and entrees but once served we were forgotten. No one came to check on us or see if we were happy with the... More

If you want the absolute best shrimp in VB, this is where the locals go! Paired with a twice baked potato and their fresh variety of breads, you will have experienced dining at one of the best restaurants in VB. It's located in an old VB neighborhood on the water. VA Beach is not known for particularly special restaurants especially in the winter season. Went there for a large group dinner which was excellent. Food and service were excellent. Highly recommended.
