This is a charming inn with different rooms for dining inside and out. We dined inside and loved the French posters on the wall. The food was beautifully presented with lots of amuse bouches. This chef knows what he is doing. I of course want my meal to taste good but when it is presented as beautifully as mine was... More

My wife and I have been the Ashby Inn several times (even celebrated an anniversary there) and have always found the food tasty, innovative, and filled with unusual locally sources ingredients. This continues to be the case in our latest visit. The beef tenderloin was superb and the lamb well presented and tasty. (Perhaps a lighter hand on the salt... More

We came Saturday night (early valentines) Nolan did a great job taking care of us. We each one of each chef tasting menu and vegetarian. We left over stuffed but we did have a bunch of bread with the honey butter. Next time I will not do the full tasting menu but everything we tried was fantastic.

I loved the old chef, but there's a terrific new chef, Tom Whitaker now who did a fantastic tasting menu for us. The sommelier paired wines and when I said my palate didn't jibe with the "crispness" of some Virginia whites, he found a perfect German dry white wine I'd never heard of but am glad to find. Everything was... More

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here while guests at the inn. The sommelier went out of his way to let us taste glasses of wine we might enjoy, and the service and setting were romantic and special.

We double dated at the Ashby Inn on New Years Day. We sat in the tap room by the fireplace, and had a great time! Burgers and Cheesesteaks and coziness. Friendly service and relaxed vibe. This is a special place. Really enjoyed seeing all the famous people's names on brass plaques, who we guessed have previously dined regularly in the... More

We had been to the Ashby Inn for dinner a few times over the past several years and have always been impressed which is why we come back. Unfortunately this trip was disappointing. The food was good but the service was awkward and odd. Our waitress was very casual and tried to hold awkward conversations with us. The sommelier was... More

We come here once a year and stay in one of the four Schoolhouse rooms in a separate building overlooking acres of meadow. I would not recommend staying in the main building, where you might hear the kitchen staff or guests coming and going. The Schoolhouse rooms (four) each have a fireplace, comfy four-poster king bed, wood-burning fireplaces, porches, window... More

Food was excellent. Everything we had was outstanding. The restaurant is inside a quaint little inn and was very cozy feel. The only down side was slow service. Very long wait for drinks and initial order

The historical Ashby Inn and Restaurant was built during the federal period in 1829. It is nestled under Paris Mountsin in scenic Paris, Virginia. The Restsurant spills around three distinct areas of the Inn. It's a charming place with excellent service, comfortable dining area and outstanding food from a world class chef. It also sports an excellent bar and a... More
