Dropped in here last minute when we were staying in KeriKeri. Found it by accident by trying to find some water to look at! What a stunning location down by the water. Had a lovely well cooked steak. All the courses were very pleasant and the staff were exceptionally pleasant. Highly recommend a visit to this place!

We went here last night for dinner & the service was so slow we almost walked out without our main. One waiter had home home sick which left 3 people at front of house. People were trying to catch the staff's eye for dessert menus & us for drinks. We arrived at 7pm & didn't get out main until 8.25.... More

I was unsure what to expect after reading mixed reviews about this place. As it happens, four of us enjoyed a lovely lunch on a sunny but windy day overlooking the lake. I enjoyed the green lipped mussels - they were sweet and juicy with a subtle cream sauce. I'm assured the fish and chips were also superb. Maybe my... More

We popped in to the Pear Tree one afternoon and asked them if they have gluten free and vegan dishes. The manageress assured us they could cater for us, just not that evening (New Years Eve) and told us to call her before we come and she’ll organise the dishes with the chef. A few days later we called early... More

The Pear Tree is set in beautiful surrounds and had great views of the historic Stone Store Basin. It's a wonderful spot to have a cold beer on a hot afternoon or a cup of coffee. Just don't waste your hard earned money on the food. It's a disgrace to the NZ dining scene. The menu is very limited and... More

We booked at this restaurant two days in advance due to a recommendation and advice of a Local friend. Our expectations where high. We found the menu selection limited and poor along with the annoying practice of all sides to be chosen and charged separately. Our party of four eventually chose Salmon steak and Snapper Fillet. Both where very disappointing... More

We visited this restaurant lunchtime boxing day. The queue to order food was long ( and only one young girl serving). It took me approx 20 minutes to place an order. The staff were not confident and came across inexperienced. We were given the wrong drinks ( and cider with a straw!) but after the long wait couldn't be bothered... More

Arrived just in time on Sunday afternoon. Handy disability parking and a lovely view of the water and the Stone Store. The staff charming and the mussels the best food we had in the Bay of Islands.

The view was spectacular. Food was not good. I have ordered a crispy calamari dish and my calamari were like a cupboard, chewy and not crispy at all. My Asian slaw did not have any dressing and was just a test less shredded cabbage mess. A Vietnamese dipping sauce did not have much flavour ( just lots of chili). Four... More
