We were staying at the hotel down the street and went here for dinner. It was really good and we went before 6:30 so there was a cheaper menu when traveling with children. They also have a children's menu.

Took a while to be greeted and seated, and then our initial drinks order was very slow to be taken. After that everything was great - staff were lovely, friendly & helpful. Food was good, house wine was very drinkable and good value. Slightly more expensive than our normal girlie night, but worth it. Not too noisy, good atmosphere.

We have visited many times and have always enjoyed a great meal at this pub. Today we were slightly disappointed that when we arrived there was no one to great us. The bar man returned to the bar a few minutes after we arrived and he avoided eye contact with us. A further few minutes passed and the people behind... More

My boyfriend and I visited on Good Friday as part of the Easter bank holiday weekend. Upon arrival the pub was super busy inside which provided a great, happy atmosphere. We were shown to the bar and taken to our table within 10 minutes - prompt service, just enough time to grab a drink and relax before lunch. We had... More

Great food in a comfortable, elegant without being fussy environment. The cheese soufflé was out 0f this world. My son says: "The Sunday roast is amazing! It comes with Yorkshire pudding, baby carrots, perfectly roast potatoes... Unfortunately the meat is a bit too chewy". Otherwise everything else is delicious. It's worth calling to see if you need a reservation.

We have visited this restaurant which was previously Bluebeckers on three occasions and I was drawn by the quality and inventedness of the dishes particularly their French Fish Soup which was to die for! Each visit I looked forward to resampling this fabulous starter however on my last visit. I ordered the French fish soup but was disappointed to find... More

Think delicious cuisine (special marks for the Cornish-reared beef which was a huge hit in the three forms we tried: onglet, fillet and roast), ridiculously good service and idyllic location and you understand why "locals" (some of whom come from a reasonable distance obviously) can't get enough of this restaurant (and reservations are actually pretty difficult to get). Only negative... More

Used to be my regular pub to meet friends and family, stopped in between as they started allowing dogs! (which is now restricted to the bar area) But i had to try again , as the food is really good, they still didn't disappoint . But please .....stop the dogs (sorry i love them but not in a place with... More

We had another very enjoyable evening at The Hare - visiting early for dinner before the entertaining quiz which starts at 8pm. 3 people eating dinner, all very happy with their choices - though some debate that the pie of the day should have a pastry bottom rather than just a lid, that having been said the person who had... Dear Joanna H, Thanks a million for the fabulous feedback, it made our day. We are running extra vegetarian options most of the days as "specials", I am sorry if they were not available when you have dined with us. I hope we will have the pleasure to welcoming you back soon with more vegetarian options! Best, Hristo More

The food was good and my soup excellent. The value and choice of their set meal was very good. But the service was abysmal. Had to ask for our order to be taken. Soup arrived but no spoons, had to ask for bread which was dry and clearly been sitting out for a while. Watched as a waitress tidied the... More

Description
From our lovely hare that greets you on the sign outside to our friendly & knowledgeable staff we offer a warm welcome to our pub. We have a spacious bar serving real ales and hearty bar food as well as an 80-seat brasserie serving the best of seasonal English food with a French twist.

The wine list is a carefully selected journey through the best of the new World, along with some great French wines and a very special Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine that has been specially blended for us. Our gorgeous garden is the perfect spot to while away a few hours in the summer sun.

Good food, real ale, friendly staff in a fresh and welcoming space: we have everything you would want in a favourite local.
