Really good hearty northern food! I had the steak and ale pie, and my boyfriend had the burger. Both were tasty, massive portions! Would recommend for an evening meal for anyone staying up the road in the Avenue hotel.

Called for late lunch. Had the pate, tasteless no texture. Friend had the soup, small bowl for the price and very salty. Not somewhere to return too.

A friendly welcome from the landlady. Children and dog made very welcome too. A wide selection of drinks - some well kept ales (Boon doggle was lovely). Good selection of traditional meals on the bar menu. Homemade pie was delicious - superb dish all round....More
