Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived in Edam early for the weekly cheese market and to shoot some great Photos of the Town. Discovered this nice place which was one of the few open early in the morning. We weren't disappointed! Great Espresso and a Ham and Cheese croissant...hot from the oven, and if you wont tell we had a bite or two of the Dutch candies. Service was great any they were helpful in directing us to the Cheese Market which was fun.More

This place was so cute both inside and out! We sat outside after seeing the cheese market, great stop to just rest, watch the people and enjoy Edam. Had the Poffertjes. These small fluffy Dutch pancakes were amazing! Hot, and tasty. Service was good, staff...was attentive, friendly and we really enjoyed this great restaurant.More

We have been on the road for a few weeks (Italy, Greece) and this is my first time in the Netherlands. Beautiful place, and the 3 of us need to get a snack and drinks. This little place is really a fun stop. We are...from Dallas Texas and we thought it was fun to try the nachos, and we tried the cheese sampler. Of course Heineken and Duvel beers. Fun stop. Free WiFi to keep up to date. Service staff was nice and friendly. Great first stop. May come back here during this visit.More

The exterior caught the eye with interesting objects displayed in the window. The interior was much the same and although we just had coffee and cake it was good quality and tasty, reasonably priced. Service was both friendly and personal

Nice little restaurant in the middle of Edam, cozy deco and very kind staff. We ordered an excellent pumpkin soup, cheese croquettes, chicken wings and pork ribs. All dishes were delicious!

Small town with little restaurants in the mid price range but this was one of the great spots. Had drinks outside followed by a great meal for the price.

We had a short holiday in Edam. Although quite small, this restaurant has an interesting decor similar to an old English pub but with a Dutch aspect. My wife and I ate here on two evenings out of a 5 day stay in Edam, and...were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the prompt service and the delicious meals. In particular, their tenderloin steak can be highly recommended. They also serve local and Belgian beers and a variety of wines. .Although they have little in the way of outdoor eating area, this restaurant should be full every night by those who really enjoy a good meal, and by those who wish for a romantic table for two.More

After walking all over Edam we had chosen this place due to the fabulous eclectic window displays we had seen on our journey and upon entering hours after we still enjoyed the eclectic decor inside. Staff very friendly drinks were cold but I ordered the..."Irish beef" hamburger and yes I think it was a joke but I was not laughing. Definitely a frozen very thin patty 2 very small pieces of tomato and a sad piece of lettuce. The roll was too crunchy on the outside from being in the oven too long. €12.95 not worth it even with the chips. Hubby asked for the Edam with dark till ended up with a white baguette instead and 2 pieces of Edam a little tomato and lettuce he said enough to taste €8. High prices for what was served.keep it fresh like the staff. RhabksMore

A nice pleasant little town restaurant. Unfortunately it did not meet the quality of the other place we ate, but this was still a fun and pleasant place to eat. Food quality and staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Certainly a restaurant I would...visit again.More

Old Edam cheese, warm brown bread and a local Texels beer -- the perfect lunch on a cold and foggy winter afternoon. We entered after 3 for a very late lunch. Small local crowd, but still greeted warmly at the door by the owner. After...picking a corner table we were treated to a great lunch of local favorites. The highlight of our meal was the conversation with the owner--told us a little about the town, a recommendation for a B&B and a bit about the restaurant's history! Genuine people are rare these days...this place is real, and the food is great. Try it.More

We dropped in one evening for dinner. We had a starter of Nachos with cheese - Large portion, piping hot and really tasty ! For the maincourse we both had fish (Cod). Beautifully served and cooked very well. Plenty of vegetables, salad and potatoes to...go with it too. Overall, the food was excellent. We both had wine too - that was fine too. No complaints. Service was very friendly indeed. Would highly recommend this place for a great meal and good prices.More

We landed there because of the tripadvisor.com reviews and we don't regret the choice. Apart of the cheese fact there is more. They offer us several things out of the menu and each one was really good. The waiter who serve us was kind, helpful...and friendly. The decoration really well choiced and the ambience wonderful. The only minus was the timing of the service; it took almost 50 minutes to get the main courses since we ordered.More
