First dishes were OK, but you get a poor offer for the seconds. You pay too much for a simple menu. The saucisse was of average quality.

We stumbled upon this little restaurant and what a hidden gem. It was very busy but they were very welcoming and made room for us. Lovely to see the waitress was English from my home town of London, whilst the chef was a true traditional Catalan chef cooking traditional recipes and his exquisite signature dish of rice " a la... The food and atmosphere is chilled and relax with amazing delicious dishes to choose from, we had entrecôte which is a stake and another guest had baked monk fish, our dishes were mouth watering and perfectly cooked to your liking. The staff are welcoming and friendly, well recommended and freshly cooked food. Would recommend l'escalenc restaurant to friends and family.

Léscalenc is a small sized family run restaurant in the backstreets of Léscala. unlike many of the places in L´escala it´s open all year and has a genuine welcoming and origonal ambience. Its unfussy decor and style is classic and understated, the place is full of local artiists work on the walls, the catalan owner chef is also an artist... More

A return visit after 2013 experiences. Family group of 3 adults and 2 children. A great welcome for children, and many locals enjoying hearty food. We returned for 3 meals in a 16 day holiday and we're never disappointed. Incredible value for money menu del dia and very friendly welcome.

Look past the simple exterior to the small, clubby interior of this locally-loved restaurant. People carry out their meals in warm pans if they can't get a table. Fabulous food, mostly fish, whatever is fresh, and a warm welcome from Paula, who is British and her Catalan husband and chef, Josep. Reserve!

This restaurant is not in a prominent location, but is certainly worth finding. We had the most wonderful lunch here, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Whilst it was very busy, the ebb & flow of conversation from the different tables really added to the relaxed and convivial atmosphere; and the service was attentive and informative. The menu was more fish orientated,... More

The best restaurants in holiday towns are often in the back streets, especially in countries where good eating is regarded as an essential part of a holiday. There are several such in L'Escala's checkerboard of narrow lanes behind the old town, but this place is really excellent. No sea view, unless like us you are lucky enough to land the... More

This is an excellent locals restaurant, which is set back in the streets behind the seafront. We were lucky to get a table for lunch, just ahead of the prebooked locals who packed in at 2pm. The Hake with Asparagus and Clams was superb, as was all the seafood. Pleasant service, reasonably priced
