Both our concierge and Fodors 2018 recommended. It is lovely with grapevines and grapes growing from the patio ceiling. We had the oxtail and spider crab. Both were delicious, but huge portions at lunchtime. There is no separate lunch menu. Service was good albeit the...More

A special place, with views above the main square in Mijas Pueblo. Run by the same family since the 1960s, three generations serve guests their excellent take on Basque cuisine here. Thoroughly recommended.

Nice looking restaurant from outside. However, one of the worst experiences with staff I’ve ever had. We were seated in a corner and not one member of staff approached our table for 20 minutes despite many staff walking past doing nothing. The male who appeared...More

Haven’t been in more than a decade and I’m pleased to say the place still has it. Th family are still front of house and friendly even with the language barrier at times. The food is rustic and perhaps seen as old fashioned - but...More

Description
El Mirlo Blanco is located in a delightful setting in a traditional whitewashed building typical of the Malaga region in the centre of Mijas. The restaurant can seat 60 diners in two dining rooms that feature wonderful open fireplaces, although in the warmer months diners can eat on the terrace with its splendid views over the town and the nearby mountains. The restaurant offers traditional Basque cooking using the finest seasonal ingredients. Its extensive menu changes with the seasons with specialities that include beef stew, baby squid or excellent cod, among many others. There is also a long list of wines and spirits. El Mirlo Blanco is a great choice at any time of year, whether you choose to sit by the fire on cold days or on its wonderful terrace in summer.
