We were in town for a day and went for lunch. We enjoyed the experience so much we brought our family there for dinner. We had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. We had the pulled pork, crab cake, Mahi, shrimp and lobster pasta and chicken. All were excellent. The bread was warm and delicious. Beer and wines were... More

We had dinner here while on a short trip to Norfolk, VA. We used trip advisor to select this restaurant even though our hotel had recommended another local spot. What an outstanding dinner with excellent service and a quaint, casual Victorian atmosphere. The She Crab Soup was honestly the best we've ever tasted anywhere in the South. The Fried Green... More

We loved Freemason Abbey. The bar area was small but so cool looking. We ate in the restaurant area. Such a neat building. The appetizers were good (calamari and crab dip). I had beef tenderloin pasta in a smoked gouda sauce. Yum! Great local beers on tap. Highly recommend!

This is a restaurant in an old church. Great atmosphere. I have tried she crap soup in many restaurants in Virginia and this is one of the best. The service was friendly and prompt. The entrees were good and the prices were moderate.

I've taken issue with a number of reviews lately. Not so with Freemason Abbey. We stopped in for lunch the other day when we found the restaurant we were targeting was closed. Boy, did we luck out. The she crab soup is to die for. I had a really good turkey and pastrami sandwich and my wife had to be... More

This is my favorite restaurant, mostly for the she crab soup, served with these neat little flatbreads that I use instead of my spoon. We've always received impeccable service and the atmosphere is stunning.

We went here as part of our vacation to the VA beach/Norfolk area. The atmosphere is very nice, with an old timey feel. We were dressed very casually having just come from sweating to death in 95 degree heat at the Harbor Fest, but we were not underdressed. The service at the door was friendly and the server was great... More

My husband and I spent the day at Nauticus on June 14. As this restaurant was only half a mile away, we walked to the restaurant. We were quickly seated upstairs. Our waiter was polite and helpful. My husband chose baby-back ribs. I chose fried shrimp. We were both very pleased with our tasty choices. There was more shrimp than... More
