We were visiting Norfolk and wanted to try something non-chain. Based on reviews, we chose the Freemason Abbey. It was very good and different (in a good way). We had the shrimp pasta and it was top notch.

Our family recently visited the restaurant and regardless of entree chosen, every meal was delicious! We would highly recommend the award winning She Crab Soup. They are known for it, and one spoonful will show you why. Located in a former church on two levels...More

We come here often for wild game night on Fridays. I highly recommend their menu. The ambiance is nice and the food is delicious.

This is my favorite restaurant in the whole Hampton Roads area and I go there fairly frequently. I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal there and the servers are always very pleasant. Going upstairs is a different experience than being downstairs and...More

This place does have good food. But way overpriced for quality of the food, and the menu is ... well, I guess you could say, "classic." Nothing wrong with that, nothing which really leaped of the menu that you must try it... because you've probably...More

The restaurant was very cool and located in a neat part of town. The She Crab Soup was excellent but the rest of the food was either ok or in the case of the prime rub, very over cooked.

Yes! We can accommodate almost all allergies, we always ask that you let your server know of your specific allergies so they can communicate to the kitchen and we can ensure every precaution is taken on your meals.

We at Freemason Abbey always recommend reservations, just to be on the safe side! And we are about a 7-10 minute drive from Douglas Wilder Performing Arts center
