Good food, great service, fabulous atmosphere. Well worth eating here. Located in the old town, a little difficult to find but when you do its worth it. Starter, mains of tuna and lamb, water and carafe of wine around €40

The food was absolutely gorgeous. Restaurant is set out traditional style in long tables (we shared with one gentleman but they put separators on the table to retain some privacy and separation). Recommended by a fellow holidaymaker who had visited before. I had a huge pot of mussels in a cream sauce with leek, gorgeous freshly made bread. Husband had a tuna steak with potatoes and veg, best he had ever had, and our friend had large garlic prawns. She had a bottle of white wine, we ordered a carafe of red wine - a HUGE jug of red wine arrived - we got free puds because we ordered mussels (not sure why) and we got complimentary drink choice after, everyone does apparently, (I had Baileys and husband and friends a whisky and a brandy). We were stuffed. The bill? 58.20 euros for all three of us!!!! Fantastic value/food/ambience. Buzzy and a bit loud with families chatting away together, which I loved. Next time I am trying the black pork kebab, it looked amazing.

We found this restaurant as no 1 on trip advisor and it doesn't disappoint.we called ahead to reserve and the lovely lady and owner Beatrice offered her pick up service to the restaurant.we were greeted with a complimentary glass of fizz.we were showed a plate of the fish of the day to help with our choice .all very fresh.we chose the goats cheese along with French onion soup for starters .large portions and delicious flavours.followed by the sea wedding dish of salmon and sole in champagne sauce and the sole Normand in cream and prawns.again absolutely delicious.the staff were attentive and took time to go through the wine list to accompany the dishes .all dishes served with vegetables too.we were so full unable to choose a dessert from the fresh chiller unit.we were then offered a complimentary digestif .
The atmosphere is warm and inviting.also very clean and safe .
Beatrice then offered our car ride back to our hotel in the town ,a lovely and kind gesture .
We highly recommend and will certainly return to this beautiful restaurant .thanks to everyone for an unforgettable evening and dining experience.

Average at best.
My husband and I decided to go there for some traditional Portuguese food as the reviews seemed good. We called in advance and booked a table. At arrival the waitress pointed us at dark table outside the bathroom and I asked if we could seat in one of the window tables that were free, she said no as they were tables for 4 people. There were many other free tables, all with 4 seats but she took us to the dark table. We were annoyed but thought the tables must be all booked. For our surprise in less than 5 minutes there were 2 people seated on one of the tables. The other table remained free *for the entirety of our meal*, so the another 2 tables in the middle of the restaurant. So that wasn't a great start. Btw all the "front" tables were only occupied by couples, so I still don't understand why we couldn't sit there.
We proceed to order our food and tried to get over the table situation. The starters were fine, nothing special, at all. Neither was the main course, it looked better than it tasted. The lamb was overcooked. The house wine was atrocious, for a Portuguese restaurant to serve a house wine that bad was a surprise as we've been travelling to Portugal for years and always tried regional wines without fear, that was the biggest surprise. I'm glad I was feeling like drinking and we ordered the half bottle as I would never have finished that. Quarteira is in fact lacking good restaurants but this was a big surprise as the reviews say such good things. So far our most expensive meal in quarteira and by far the less enjoyable. Also one of our waitresses didn't speak, she approached our table and threw a brown bag and left, said nothing. We looked confused at each other and told another waitress we didn't want the bread (assuming that was it) It was so weird, we felt uncomfortable. She came to our table another 2 times and I never heard her voice. Our main waitress was lovely, apart from the table situation she was very polite. Wonder if the owner didn't want us at the door or what. Anyway, if calling in advance you get the bathroom table one can only imagine where they sit you when walking in. We ate out since we got in quarteira (10 days) and this is the only bad experience we had and the most expensive one.

We visited again this time with family and again excellent food and service.from the charming friendly and funny guy who picked us up as part of the restaurant service to the team front of house Louisch and Berna( sorry if wrong spelling) They were so amazing and a credit to the restaurant. We chose the goats cheese ,onion soup and pate and then the sea wedding fish ,monkfish, sea bass ,fillet steak and pork in sauce every meal was top quality .They were really busy but still attentive to us at all times we had a complementary flute of fizz and a drink offered by the restaurant afterwards We chose desserts from the chiller cabinet and also the menu of crepes ,again excellent.
We have now been back three times in as many weeks and each time delicious .Thanks to everyone for a great evening out each time and will definitely return .

La Cabane was perhaps the best of a week's restaurant visits in Vilamoura and Quarteira. The cuisine is French/Portuguese, with a good range of meat and sea food choices. Inside, it felt like a proper, family-run restaurant. La Cabane is located in a residential area not far from the centre of Quarteira (not the beach area), and we walked from Vilamoura in about 10 or 12 minutes. But La Cabane is now offering to collect you and return you in their private taxi. Very generous. Our main courses were excellent, and the server was knowledgeable, efficient and with great English. Wine also good. Lovely laid-back atmosphere, quite different from many touristy restaurants in the resort. Medium-priced, but I thought good value for money as well. Merci beaucoup.

From the moment you walk in, this restaurant is superb. The owners made us feel so welcome and the waiting staff were outstanding - incredibly knowledgable about the menu and enthusiastic about their job. We were welcomed with a glass of the house champagne and expertly guided through the menu. The food was delicious - traditional food cooked perfectly. We visited twice and every dish we had was stand out. We tried, the golden bream, black pig fillet, pigs cheeks, prawns, monkfish, tuna and sea wedding. (I know it sounds a lot but we had to try as much of the menu as we could!). There are also a selection of homemade deserts to try - we went for the banoffee pie and crepes. The prices are very reasonable and we don’t normally go back to a place, but this is truly a hidden gem and I could not recommend it more.

We visited La Cabane last night and had a wonderful night. There was 5 of us and 3 are vegan which could have been quite tricky in a predominately french restaurant. However Beatrice (owner and chef) went out of her way to ensure she made the most delicious vegan food. We rung ahead to ask if she would be able to cook something vegan and she accepted the challenge.
She made a marinated beetroot starter with a side of garlic/white wine mushrooms. It was incredible. Then for main we had beyond burgers with a creamy mushroom brandy sauce with chips and veg. The other two members of the party had fish and steaks from the main menu and these are also delicious.
Luis served us throughout the meal and his polite and friendly service really topped off a great evening. The team at la cabane really went above and beyond to ensure we had the most amazing time, thank you so much and we will be returning soon.

We were recommended this restaurant by a local resident. It's worth the trip if you are looking for a relaxed, local, well priced meal away from the main hub of the marina. It's a bit tricky to navigate in a car as it's situated in the thin back streets, but we managed to park easily (free parking as this is the residential area) and walk to the restaurant. They managed to seat us even though we hadn't booked. I would hence recommended booking as it was busy for a mid week late sitting (a good advert for the popularity of this place)!
The food was as you would expect, un-fussy, local and fresh. The staff were amazingly friendly and the atmosphere was brilliant.
Sit outside if you can.

We visited La Cabane last week for an evening meal. The restaurant itself has a traditional Portuguese feel that has a lovely atmosphere. Being ceoliac (gluten free) I am always nervous about eating out incase the restaurants aren't aware of my dietary requirements, but the staff were very knowledgeable and took the time and effort to talk me through my options - which was very much appreciated. There were many options for gluten free so I was spoilt for choice! We visited for my friend's birthday (who is vegan) and they went above and beyond; making a vegan and gluten free cake so the whole group could enjoy and celebrate together. The service and food was excellent and I can't recommend enough - thank you La Cabane!

We were recommended this restaurant by our transfer driver on arrival in Vilamoura so we thought we’d give it a try as if you book a table they will arrange collection from your hotel and take you back later . It is an authentic little Portuguese Restaurant the staff are very welcoming and on arrival you get a glass of Prosecco. When ordering they explain the specials board show you the fresh fish of the day and explain everything on menu how it’s cooked etc . We ate here 3 times on our stay all excellent meals with beautiful wine . Give this place a try it’s worth it I can recommend the Lamb Chops they were delicious.

A fabulous evening from start to finish.
The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. They managed to squeeze us in when we arrived without a reservation. The starters, main courses and desserts were all delicious and the wine was plentiful!
We found it very reasonably priced and the offer of a lift back to our apartment at the end of the evening was much appreciated. We’ll definitely be back!

We visited the restaurant last week and immediately booked again because it was so good!
My husband said the fillet steak was the best he has ever had, and I loved the cafe liegeois dessert. I can also recommend the fish wedding and the lamb.
Being picked up from our hotel and taken back by the owners was a really nice touch.
Thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant.

A great experience that started with a free pick up from our accommodation. The host was excellent, he spoke 3 languages at least and explained all the details of every dish on the menu. The food was excellent- Portuguese specialties a plenty. We all chose fish dishes but the meat dishes looked lovely too. The desserts were made in- house and the crème caramel as Mel soufflé was delicious. Everyone in our party was delighted with their meals- would highly recommended the “sea wedding”, the stand out.

Visited last night after wandering the local area with my wife and toddler. It’s in what feels like the old town of Quarteira, set back from the seafront and the somewhat monotonous food on offer. We had a fantastic experience with excellent service throughout. The main waiter / Sommelier was very knowledgeable of the menu. Well worth a look. Simple cooking with great ingredients done well in a cosy family feel type place.
