This new establishment is a MUST VISIT. The location on the top of a hill above Greti, very near Greve in Chianti, is a fabulous spot with very reasonable prices for locally inspired, pleasingly modernly presented food. The place is just great. It is also...a breath of fresh air with a light and modern vibe. The service staff was all great right to the chef who spent time with us after the kitchen closed for the night. The super fresh menu changes daily. Nearly everything on the menu is sourced from their own on-site farm. Each dish was superb. The pastas were handmade with great sauces. The mains were spot on target. This is not your normal heavy Tuscan food. It is great tasting Tuscan food with a northern twist to make it look and be way, way more modern, yet not pretentious, at all. It is solid food, not fluffy. They only offer their wines, but the choices are far more broad than many Chianti Estates with a sparkling, at least 2 good whites, at least 5 reds, and a Vin Santo dessert wine. All are priced very fairly at 5-6 euros more than the enoteca prices. We tasted a whole bunch of them before and during dinner. If you want to take away unopened bottles of wine for later, they offer the enoteca prices for those keen. Terreno is well worth it. ENJOY.More

We had a wonderful meal at Terreno in its glorious surroundings. The wine that they make on site is superb and perfectly compliments the food. The only downside if i were to be fiercely critical is that the wine tour was a little disappointing. I'd...avoid that and go straight for the foodMore

We saw the reviews and were in the area so took a chance to see if we could reserve a table for late that evening. The owners took time to explain what was on the tasting menu as it was just in Italian. When we...came back an hour or so later they had taken the trouble to translate it all into English just for us. This is just one example of how special and at ease they make you feel. The location is stunning and the food and wine first class. I'm only releaved this place is in Chianti and not round the corner from where we are staying as I would find it hard to resist dining there every night. Just to top it off, we had our 17 year old son with us who is a chicken nugget and beer kind of guy. He had never tried red wine before and converted on the spot then spent the drive home raving about the spaghetti in duck ragu he had just had. A very memorable night for all the right reasons. Thanks for making us so welcome. We loved it and so will you!More

Terreno went above and beyond or expectations! It was everything we imagined a Tuscan vineyard experience to be and so much more! The wine tour was interesting and informative. They have reinvented Chianti to stand up to any high quality French wine. The view and...atmosphere is enchanted. The food was amazing and the service so gracious! The whole vineyard is so simple and elegant at the same time. I was hesitant to go because for some strange reason they didn’t make the top Tuscany vineyards on the travel websites - that has to change! An absolute highlight of our travels!!!More

Sometimes in a wine tasting or dining experience there are trade-offs, but not here! The whole experience was an absolute highlight of our trip - setting, food, service, owners, wine, etc etc. We had a dinner here with 4 couples, a family lunch with our...teenage daughters, and a wine tasting/tour and all were fabulous. The Ruhne family have great stories of the history of this property and of their stewardship of it and Spartacus was the consummate host - charming and knowledgeable. The food is delicious - much of it grown on the property. Fresh and simple, but still sophisticated. A lighter take on classic Tuscan cuisine, which was quite welcome in the heat of summer. Wonderful advice on wine pairings and we enjoyed them all. The Chianti Classicos are lovely, but we also recommend branching out and trying the Stella, the dessert wine and the Sofia in particular is not to be missed!More

We opted for the tasting menu which was very good overall with the exception of the pasta which was overcooked. We enjoyed this meal nonetheless. The owner was very friendly and the wine that he paired with the food was fantastic!

Visiting in Florence for a Chianti Classico tour and happened to end up here with our group for dinner. Atmosphere, service and FOOD were amazing say nothing of the fantastic wines! Hard to believe it was only opened for 4 months when we were there....Can not wait to go back! Also LOVE that menu changes daily and vegetables are grown right outside the door.More
