We visited this restaurant while staying at Parco San Marco. It was our last night and we were looking for some authentic well priced Italian food. La Taverna did not disappoint us. We reserved at midday for that evening and the restaurant was almost booked out so don't for get to book a table early. The food was delicious and... More

it looks like a Pizzeria but they serve no pizza for lunch and the food is very much "casalingo" with a nice variety of see and lake fish. We saw some huge Milanese steaks passing by but we had a very nice Lavarello (a local lake fish). Service and Quality/Price is good.

The spaghetti bolognese is always reliably good. The carpaccio is average and doesn't have a lot of flavor. The fritta mista has less tentacles pieces than round pieces and you might get a heartburn from the frying oil later. I wish they served pizza at lunch of every day! The desserts are generally average though home-made; the blueberry tiramisu was... More

Lugano is in Switzerland. It also has a lake named after it. The lake is partly in Switzerland and partly in Italy. There is a very wiggly-waggly road along the north shore which goes from Lugano (Switz) to Porlezza (Italy) and on to Lake Como and so on. The border is crossed at Gandria, which is well sign-posted in Lugano. Cima... More

Good italian food. Best was fritto misto served on fried spagetti sticks. Prices quite high for north italy.

We went here as a family of 4. English, German and Italian spoken here. Very friendly staff and the service was fast too. One can dine on the terrace overlooking the lake. We had the primi of zucchini gnocchi with Gorgonzola with pears and a marscapone and asparagus risotto. For secondi we had the fried mixed sea food. All delicious... More

Great food but had to fight to get a table! Cima is only reachable by car as there are no pavements! So when we arrived on a Monday using a very expensive taxi and then to be told full ( lots of empty tables) we were not best pleased. Fortunately the manager has a change of heart and we enjoyed... This place is brilliant. The owner and staff are attentive, delivering excellent customer service. The menu has something for everyone. We went with a 4 year old and 4 month old and had the most peaceful meal of our holiday. The waitress provided entertainment for the 4 year old while the 4 month old was able to sleep to the... Thank you Giorgio for the second fantastic experience in two weeks. All the staff are extremely professional. You of course are the personality of the place. The food is exceptional. If we have one thing only in Italy, it must be marinated alici, yours is superb. Equal to or better than we had in Liguria years ago. The tagliata di... More
