We wherein an all-day tour and the Restaurant Le Papagall was the place to have lunch. We had four courses and wine was included. The food was very good but not great. The portions were nice and the service was very good. Considering that they prepared everything for 100 persons, they did a great job

OK so nothing special but I went for the €14 menu.. quiche Loraine starter, chicken/fries main and a delicious home made apple cake pudding. Very quick which was perfect to allow more time to site see and head on to ferry in Caen. Service was good and many locals were eating inside too.

The Papagal/parrot has always been a great meeting place for English Veterans & their families so when on my yearly visit for the D day commemorations in June this year (2016), I noted that their restaurant was always full, I decided to take dinner there one evening with my better half. We ordered the steak which was not only small... More

We had two days to visit the D-Day beaches in late June. The Rick Steves 2015 France guidebook recommended this place and also the museum in Arromanche. I was totally charmed -- I was looking for something that I thought was truly and typically French and this restaurant filled the bill perfectly. It wasn't the fanciest restaurant in town-- and... Restaurant is very close to the beach, in some kind of shopping street and apparently very popular for tourists. Inside of restaurant is nicely decorated. We didn't book in advance but we were lucky and found 1 table free to have lunch. Although there are many dishes on the menu, we ordered a day lunch: As a starter we had... More

So it's not going to be getting a Michelin star anytime soon, but what it will get is customers coming back for more. So it serves the standard pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, steak and of course fish dishes. The prices are reasonable and portions don't leave you hungry. They do a set menu, which was generally soup or pate followed by... More
