Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Intriguing place for lunch, afternoon coffee or souvenirs etc. They have remarkable selection and very friendly customer service. There also two specialties; locally made excellent chocolate (Petri's Chocolate) and Brinkhall cidery/winery on the premises. Only recently I bought a bottle of Ice Cider by Brinkhall...as a gift for a friend. The taste was fantastic, I will have to buy a bottle for myself next time I drive by.More

We arrived for a late lunch a few minutes before 1500, lunch ends at three, after waiting in line for 5 minutes we were told there is no lunch even if the time was exactly three… so even after this mild dissapoinent we decided to...have a foccacia an a hampie.. none of wich one would write home about… not worth your time or money.. went to nearby shell to pick up a decently priced coffee…More

The food isn't so good anymore, not worth of the money. The salad wasen't as fresh as before. Fish soup also tasted and smelled a little bit weird. The soup was also very salty and the fish wasen't in pieces (as usually in fish soup),...it was more like smashed. Also the lady put my cake piece in a plate with bare hands and she touched the cake with her hands. The prices were also higher than before. And the cake would have needed something more than just dark chocolate and marengue. In my opinion it would have been much better with whipped cream(as before). The actual cake was good as were the customer servise.More

Design Hill Cafe is located close to Salo next to Highway 1 adjacent to design outlet. The cafe has limited but very well thought menu selection. The food (i.e. soups and salads) is taste and quality wise excellent. This is most likely the best option...for break when driving between Helsinki and Turku. Highly recommended.More

The cafe is great! Excellent selection of cakes, pies, etc. Whatever you take it looks and taste great. If you enjoy fine dining, this is "fine caking". :)

Design Hill on selkeästi paras pysähdyspaikka ykköstien varrella. Loistava keitto- ja salaattilounas (kuvat puhuvat puolestaan), loistavat kahvit, teet, kylmät juomat ja konditoriatuotteet. Myymälässä monipuolinen valikoima merkkituotteita ja erikoisuuksia. Vahva suositus: kannattaa poiketa, kauempaakin. Design Hill is clearly the best place to stop by the road...#1 Turku-Helsinki. Excellent lunch of soups and salads (have a look at the pics...), outstanding coffee, tea and beverages, as well as pastries and buns. The shop features a wide selection of branded products and specialties. A strong suggestion: take a break at Design Hill.More

Unexpected! When usually people wait for the waiter to just pour the coffee and hand out the mug, here they ask you kindly to go and sit and wait. Then, only ordered a simple coffee, I was given a mug on a wooden plate with...decorations and a couple of small chocolates. WOW!More

In the middle of a wonderful shop with many products of finnish and foreign designers, you can have really tasty lunch or a range of coffees with tasteful cakes. Old fashioned finnish limonade is also offered. Really nice place to stop by.

We visited the place for the second time. The toilets were now clean and well designed. The soup of the day along with salad was awesome. They have good prices and lovely staff. The food is designed with care. I definitely recommend the place.

Wonderful cafe to have lunch or coffee break; also local residents seem to appreciate the great variety of sweet and savory pastries. You choose and pay first and they serve to the table your choice, with most beautiful details. Definitely worth a stop here.

Brilliant design stuff with reasonable prices and lots of variety. Good service and lovely dishes with personal details, yet simple enough and delicious (we had soup & salad + smoothies). A great place for a pause if you are passing by!
