Our food philosophy is based on classical cooking utilizing products from local producers from which we're preparing honest, fresh, simple and of course tasty food from scratch. A wonderful place to go, good food, friendly service and beautiful, interesting and tasteful interior. A great place for a chilly lunch with family and friends. There was a great salad buffet, the vegetarian soup was delicious, with coffee and desert on top. We loved the unique pieces of antique Arabia plates and we will come back!

Honest food, great value set lunches. Visited as family of 4 with small children. The restaurant was recommended by Salo Art Gallery and we were not disappointed.
The venue had space for pram, coats, child seats, 🚻 toilets.
The staff were polite and helpful, and everyone did their best in English.
We had 3 course meal with mash and fish dessert, as well as unlimiited coffee,

Brunch worth a visit!!
We enjoyed brilliant brunch at Kastu. The menu was very nice and versatile with some less seen cuisines available. Thumps up for the service too! And the decor is the icing on the cake. Well done!

Seriously needs a cleanup and tidying up. The food itself is reasonably, however it has progressively become untidy and not very clean. Very unusual in Finland. The kitchen is a sad mess in plain view of customers eating in or simply going by on the street. Pots, pans, plastic containers, ingredients stacked up against the large (and very dirty) window facing the street. The windows having been cleaned for ages, with streaks running down the glass, specially in the salad bar area facing the street. Cobwebs and dirt on the outside of doors and windows. Worn and peeling paint. Stopped going there

Went there when passing by and looking for a place to lunch in Salo, reviews had 4.5 stars but the food was quite basic. 19 eur for a burger that was on same level as fast food staff. Nothing special. Same with dish my daughter took (over fried fish)

Not the first visit to Kastu but this time food was exceptionally good on for both of us. I'm usually a beef guy and if I eat burger the list is very bad. I didn't want to go for a burger but took Dijon Chiken instead without any excpectations. But it was perfect. Didn't miss a beef at all. I can highly recommend this place!

Kastu, downtown Salo provides reasonably good food for couples
service is good, but the fact that Salo is small town is visible in service.
If you want eating to be great experience this is not the place to go, actualy
I have not found any such place nearby Salo,
But I propose you to try it...

Great spot for a special occasion. Staff is super friendly, and the food is something special. Unique, amazing flavors. We had the daily catch and kastu burger. Both were tasty. A rare find in a city with few restaurants. And they have have a good atmosphere, a rare thing in Finland.

We visited Kastu restaurant in Salo, It did not look much but it needs not because the service is first class, service level is something that I have met too seldom.
The drinks that they made by order in seconds were excellent. The food really put smile on your face, one reason behind good tastes were excellent raw-materials.That is it, will be visiting there second time too.

The Cheesburgers were delitious and so was the fish. The Wiener Schnitzel with pesto sauce was different but tasty. Really enjoyed our first family lunch in Salo / Finland.

Nice, cozy place in the city of Salo.
Though there were not much to choose from as a vegetarian. Orange risotto was tasty!

We found this place just by looking restaurants in city of Salo from Tripadvisor.
Friendly service, really nice design and food was excellent.
If you want to find something special in Salo, go to this restaurant.
We are surtainly coming back.

Love this place, ended up eating dinner and lunch there the following day.
For dinner, the cured game with chokeberries and fried Finnish lichen was exceptional! The burger was excellent too and the side salad (chosen rather than fries) was really different - figs, squash, slivers of beetroot (I think?) - very tasty.
For lunch the salads were lovely and the spinach soup with egg was tasty
I will definitely come back when I next visit.
