Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This restaurant is outside of the town centre and situated in a residential area. It is a German bar and uniquely decorated with a distinctly German feel. Charly, the owner is a friendly guy who has lived in the area for over 30 years. There...is a wide menu, with German and intercontinental dishes to choose from. We decided to have the Maultaschen dish, which was a meat dumpling dish with fried eggs that came with a potato salad. This was very tasty and very different to what would typically be on offer elsewhere in Granada. They accept cash or credit.More

Couldn't have had a better experience. The food, the boot of beer, and the hospitality made for a really good time. Charly was a great host. Can't wait to bring the family!

Definitely not worth the price that it is charged at. No entry offered. Food was microwaved. Weak salad, very poor excuse for a german sausage. Feels like an oven in there. Prices are doubled from whats on the website. Only thing worth it was the...German beer. ByeMore

Charlie's is one of the nicest, cleanest restaurants in Granada! His German cuisine is superb and I would recommend it to everyone. He has some "unique" Nicaraguan dishes that cannot be found elsewhere and they are very tasty. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing...at Charlie's which is one reason it is one of my favorite places in Granada. You must engage Charlie in conversation because he knows some unique things about Granada that you will not discover elsewhere and his experiences are very interesting. I would tell anyone that Charlie's should be a must on your list of places to go in Granada!More

For my business trip, I stayed one week in Charly's Bar & Restaurant (Hotel) It felt safe and comfortable at the small family Hotel. The breakfast and dinner were perfect. I don't speak Spanish, so we could communicate in English or German. Charly knows a...lot about Granada and was able to give good ideas. I would totally recommend you this hotel!More

We really enjoyed our dinner at Charly's. The décor was fun, the food was delicious and FINALLY we had some good beer. Nicaraguan beer tends to always be weak lagers. If you are craving good European beer in Granada, Charly's is your best choice. The...food was an interesting combination of Nicaraguan and German that actually compliment each other. We thought it was important to get out off the restaurant street in the central square and see what else was happening food-wise. The area is a little odd, so it's probably best to take a taxi. Don't let that stop you from going outside the centre of town though as there are some amazing places to discover.More

Charleys is an icon in Granada, they not only are the only Germanrestaurant in town but the food is authentic german food from German sausage to tender steaks, seafood, pork, chicken and even venison. All of it spectacular. If you like beer Charly's has the...best imported beer in the region. The restaurant is well worth the trip.More

I went with a couple from Germany who now live in Panama. We LOVED the food...I had the Filete of beef with Jalapeno sauce, Laraine had the Hare, and Jorg had the Pork dish...all were delicious. They serve German beer, also. The owner is also...the chef and a very interesting guy who came from Germany about 29 years ago. We all felt the food and drink were so good that we told the owner we would be back tomorrow night. BTW we finished our dinner with homemade cheese cake and coffee...wonderful. Charly's is not in the center, but a 5 minute taxi ride will get you there...and you'll be glad you went. THANKS Herr Steinmaier for a great evening!!More

6 years ago I visited this restaurant, and it is regrettable that I never returned sooner! Still a great place to dine, great food, good service, nice ambience and all for a fair price. Location is a bit out there, however, it's worth the trip....I would definitely recommend it to others, and I look forward to going there on a much regular basis this time!More

Wonderful selection of authentic German cuisine prepared by the authentic German owner/chef. Very friendly staff. Cool ambiance. Good value. Few tourists, mostly ex-pats. They'll call you a taxi to get you home. Easy-peasy.

We stayed 2 nights in Charley's Guest House. We weren't sure what to expect because it is located outside of downtown Granada. It was about a 10 minute walk from downtown and was easy to find. We arrived in the afternoon when the restaurant was...closed but we rang the bell and were greeted by Charley's wife, who was very pleasant and friendly. The rooms are located in a secure area behind the restaurant. There is a courtyard that is beautifully landscaped, and is a relaxing place to sit. Our room was quite large and was absolutely spotless. It had a private bathroom. I think there are 4 guest rooms in all. There was a choice of 4 different options for breakfast and there was a small additional charge for breakfast, but that was clearly stated on their website. We had the omelet, which was delicious. Some of the other guests ordered something different and they commented that their breakfast was also very good. We stayed there at the end of our holiday and had to catch a late flight out of Managua on the last night. Charly organized transportation for us to get to Managua. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommended it to others.More

We spent at Charly's 2 nights. Charly is a very nice guy, very helpful and friendly. He just made our stay in Granada perfect. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean. The food at the restaurant is just delicious. He also organized for us some...visits like a tour on the Isletas. Both the bar and the hotel are to recommend. It'a a few steps from the center but the taxis are very cheap.More

Charlies Restaurant is just amazing. Nice atmosphere, great people, good service and of course, the terrific German food and the draft beer. If you like "Maultaschen, Rostbraten, Linsen und Spätzle, etc etc." and as dessert German style cheese cake, than this is the perfect spot....Its a bit out of the town center, but the taxis are cheep and this place is well worth it.More
