OUR STORY El Greco is a family restaurant established in 2012 in Koh Chang by me Kostas from Rhodes Island and my Thai wife. My success story and dream came true in 2012 when I opened my first restaurant in Koh Chang with Greek cuisine and amazing traditional dishes. Not only Thais but thousands of foreigners in Thailand have visited us over the years, and From our beautiful new decorated restaurant we serve great cocktails and big selection of Greek wines, lunches and dinners prepared with ingredients imported from Greece, all dishes are served in the Greek traditional way. This restaurant made me to love beef

I never really enjoyed eating beef until my girlfriend forced me to try her tenderloin, since then I was hooked. It's so tender and juicy....I just get hungry when I think about it. The burger on my first visit was good too, but the tenderloin is just incredible. The thai or cambodian waiters are really nice and pay attention to all the details. Once we ordered mushed potatoes as a side instead of potatoe salad and the kitchen messed it up, but the waiter realized it while serving the food and brought us mashed potatoes too. Awesome food, awesome staff and good location.

Good food and variety of styles

The restaurant serves a mix of greek, thai and western food(burguers, pasta...), but mainly many greek dishes. We had the opportunity to go there during our holidays, and we would have repeated but we did not have enough time. Food is so good. In our case we had some greek starters, some lamb and some beef, and every single dish was delicious. The beef and the lamb perfectly cooked and very taste all served in nice "dishes". The restaurant was clean and the staff correct. If I should put a "but" in this comment is that a better selection of wines would be appreciated, at least for some of us :), but it is a minor detail. It is a restaurant I would recommend to anyone who visit Kho Chang and there is no doubt I would be back if we go Koh Chang again.

I want to respons on some recent bad reviews. I know Kostas already for 11 years from my time on Koh Chang. El Greco was first on Bang Bao Pier. Just before Covid he took over Noren resort and combined that with his excellent greek kitchen. Covid made him close the resort and start on a new location in Klong Prao. Kostas is a fighter that never gives up. His primary goal is to serve excellent Greek food. You can say that he has to start all over again. That means that he has to start with a limit amount of staff and do the kitchen alone or with maybe a helping hand. He is a survivor that takes care of his family. Most places are closed, he is still open. He will never cut down on quality for which he deserves my respect. Sorry to read that there are persons who expect a first class service from a restaurant that struggles and try to keep service but remains on quality. That means in these days that waiting time for FRESH food can be a little longer. Kostas, RESPECT!

Would like to share our experience

Would like to share our experience with El Greco - I would give it a pass next time, we wasted more than an hour. We found the menu options were not as extensive as other Greek restaurants we have seen. Food took more than an hour - and even then only three of five dishes were served. It took another 20 minutes for The rest of the food. And then the food was average. Most certainly not worth the wait or the advertising. We were not the only ones and we could see another upset couple. The staff were sweet and apologised but the slow kitchen service just meant that the restaurant is not being run to meet the capacity envisaged . Three staff seem to be running around serving and cleaning ( and apologising). The place doesnot live upto the advertising unfortunately. Hope this was an exception but we are definitely not going to suggest this place.

One of the best steaks I've eaten

What an amazing find this was, friendly staff greeted us as we went it and everyone was super attentive all evening. The garden setting created a nice atmosphere and a lot of attention had gone into the decor of the restaurant. I had a Greek salad and Argentinian steak and my wife had hummus with pita and snapper as a main. Everything was cooked to perfection, im always reluctant to order steak from an island restaurant but this was up there with far more expensive steak restaurants in Bangkok and just melted in my mouth. The side of potatoes was fantastic too. The dishes were all of a decent portion size so we were stuffed by the end! The house red was also a good serving size and tasty. Highly recommended when staying on Koh Chang!

Best place in town!

My Goodness! I dont remember when I last had such good food. We go for tons of appetizers esp the tzatziki , eggplant dip, grilled feta, bruschetta (best I have ever had) and just stuff our faces. I genuinely feel sad when I am full because this place wants me to be gluttonous. Great ambience, music, service ... And did I mention the food? YUMMY!!!

El Greco has it all, the food, the ambience, the view, the service. The owner & his staff are friendly, attentive and efficient. The food is authentic & obviously prepared and cooked with care, you can see and taste it in each dish. Cannot get enough of the greek salad or the kleftico. These two dishes alone are enough to keep us returning time after time. Nice live music adds a special touch to the dining experience.

Nice place for lunch and dinner

The owner Kostas and his Thai wife seems to take pride in offering very authentic Greek food. I am a pescatorian (vegeterian plus seafood) and all the dishes I tried were very very good. Location is nice as it is at the little port. I can only say this is a great place to go to if you are interested in having a different taste after days of Thai food. Recommended.

Superb Greek Food in Koh Chang.

Kostas the Greek owner, cooks the food here and it is truly amazing. We normally stick to eating the food from the country we are in but we made an exception this time. After having spent 6 weeks in Greece last year, we thought we would give it a try. Well, we thought we were back in Greece!! Kostas is a friendly and competent host, with a very hands on style. We had a Greek salad and a tasting plate which was superb. It's located on the Bang Bao Pier, so the restaurant is right over the water. Loved it. Highly recommended. Oh and he does great Frappes too.

We heard about this place from friend and they highly recommended the restsurant. We were not disappointed, the food was delicious although the servings were a little bit to large for us. The slow cooked meatballs in tomato sauce is something of the best we have tasted. This place is a must if you are in the vicinity!

Incredible greek food! We tried some of the specials- cheese balls and zucchini cakes, grilled feta, souvlaki and lamb gyros. The lamb was the main star, the best we have had well, anywhere! Nicely presented. Prices excellent and warm owner, staff excellent. Thank you for a lovely evening, we'll be back to see you again.

Some starters from Greece. This was the first time for my wife and she absolutely loved it. However, had steaks for mains and the meat just melted in our mouths. I thought it could not any better...it did, as we had to come again after two days. The wife insisted. It just seemed that the steaks were even better, if that is possible. Outstanding!

We've had an outstanding food experience, as always! Can strongly recommend New Zealand Tenderloin steak prepared by Kostas himself, along with original Greek salad and finishing the process with super tasty Baklava. Visiting El Greco everytime we're on Koh Chang became a tradition. "Where good food rolls...!!!"

Favorite restaurant on the island

I went to El Greco with another couple of foodie friends. We stayed a week in Ko Chang and went twice to El Greco as it was so tasteful ! We’ve loved everything, from the delicate inside decoration, to the attentive and careful staff to the delicious food. It was amazing. Starters are very very good, the hummus is amazing and plates come with generous portions. Do not miss the Moussaka, it’s wonderful.

Friendly staff, lovely food

We fancied a change from Thai food. We chose a good choice. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I ordered the lamb kleftico and my daughter the lamb chops. Others ordered steak, very tasty and cooked well. We got free deserts which were fabulous! Very nice wine too. My only criticism is extremely expensive but can’t fault the quality and taste of the food
