This restaurant and the gift shop share a parking lot with the Mabry Mill exhibit area on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is convenient to eat there if the time of day is right. More often than not,the restaurant is crowded and I've visited the exhibit area when the restaurant line was out the door. Friday morning was the first... More

I never get tired of going here! Beautiful photographic opportunities. Nice to walk and visit all the exhibits. Unfortunately the restaurant had closed for the season, but we'll be back!!!

At 3 pm there was a wait. I had turkey dinner which was tasty and fine, but not great. My husband had meatloaf which was good. There was no vanilla ice cream for the blackberry cobbler. A nice country lunch without driving off the parkway. The old mill and surrounding old buildings was interesting.

We had an enjoyable breakfast in this old-fashioned diner. We were given a nice pager with voice alert so we were able to walk down to the mill while we waited. The food came out fast - the blueberry pancakes were delicious! The waitress gave us our coffee in to-go cups which was really nice. Just a nice stop along... More

Lunch was good but the wait and the service was horrible. Wait time was over an hour. Once seated it took forever to be waited on and the servers were not friendly. I overheard other customers complaining to each other about how unfriendly the wait staff was as well. Probably would skip this meal stop on a visit to the... More

We were seated in the back where it was hot. We had to wait forever for drink orders. Two tables were seated after us and had their orders taken before us. Finally someone comes to rake our orders but by then we are ready to leave. Poor service.

Mabry Mill Restaurant offers a wonderful variety of good, country food, featuring breakfast and their Hotcakes. There is a variety from regular buttermilk pancakes, to sweet potato pancakes, to a local favorite there - buckwheat cakes. Sign-in when you first arrive and then walk out to the Mill to have a look around. There's sure to be a wait for... More

Stopped during our drive of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Was told there was a 30-40 minute wait. that was fine, just enough time to visit the historic mill nearby. Came back after 30 minutes and our pager went off. They were ahead of schedule. I had the cornmeal encrusted catfish and wife had the Fried Green tomato, pimento cheese and... More

Arrived just after a couple of large groups had been seated, so there was a bit of a wait. A good idea is to check in as soon as you arrive and get on the wait list if there's one, as you can still wander around the mill and see the sights while waiting. Had the BBQ pork sandwich, which... More

Government owned property, but privately managed. For a tourist site this restaurant is a pleasant surprise. Service if good, food is good, and price is appropriate for this site. Highly recommend stopping here and then touring the mill and adjoining areas.
