Stopped in on a whim. Never had an authentic German meal. Great atmosphere, wonder wait staff, and awesome food. Glad we came.

When in the area.... This is definitely a German dining experience! The different meals we selected were all excellent. The family style sides were tasty and sufficient. We skipped appetizers and still had leftovers to take home.

We have been several times. It is a good place for something different. The pepper and crab soup is wonderful. The waiter was very attentive. It is pretty pricey but good.

The menu has a large variety to choose from and and their daily specials are very popular. Their prices are higher than most of the German restaurants I have visited but the quality is excellent and the servings are abundant. Most of the people we saw leaving had at least one to-go box. Our server was excellent and we could... More

When we arrived, we were able to sit upstairs--a little cozier than downstairs. Great atmosphere. Our server (Dodson) was so sweet throughout our evening. Friendly and accommodating! When we were handed the Menu, I worried--slightly higher prices than I was used to. Well, once served, the proportions were astronomical...the flavors burst in my mouth! My filet mignon (in a sauce)... More

What a shock to find this place! A colleague recommended it, and was on the money. Good German food and lots of it! If you don't walk out with a doggy bag, you shared the meal.

Had ate here a couple of years ago and loved it .This visit was very dissapointing. The service was good. 2 of our party ordered the Wiener Schnitzel .I'm not sure what they served us but it was the worst Wiener schnitzel I've ever had it was dry and tasteless. Brought leftovers home to husband he thought the same thing... More

We've been to the family's similar restaurant in Topping, Va for many years, but after attending a wedding catered by the Bavarian Chef (wonderful), we decided to head inland to Madison. The cute, rustic-looking building was tucked on the hill on Rte 29 in Madison. The menu was authentic German food, along with a portobello/gruyere nod to vegetarians, and a... More
