I really enjoyed my salad with blue cheese crumbles, nuts, raspberry vinegarette dressing. It had a pan sauteed chicken breast on top still hot. Ask for bread or crackers with it. I have also had sandwiches, and homemade soup of the day. You can eat outside, or the restaurant, or the bar, after a certain time of the day. I suggest... More

My wife and I went here to eat one late afternoon. She ordered braised beef tips and I ordered egg plant Parmesan. My wife's food came out terribly overdone and my dish was cold like it had just come of the fridge. All this while the waitstaff ( high school kids) were whooping and having a good time in back.... Several years ago my family ate here frequently when my parents/-in-law's were moving. We loved the place for the country food and atmosphere. Th restaurant has changed little. My Ruben& Onion Ring's were good, my homemade Berry Cobbler with two generations scoops of ice cream were over the top excellent. I really want to bring the family back go a... More

The Lovingston Café is one of the oldest eating establishments in Nelson Co. It is one of the very few restaurants located in Lovingston, the county seat. The menu contains a wide variety of foods and, with Nelson Co. being a wine and beer mecca, you can expect top-notch local beer and wine. The restaurant is not very large but... More

We were driving through around lunch time. Stopped here, and were glad we did. Food was good, reasonably priced, and the service was good. Great choice in an area with limited options

This little place reminds me of an old time lunch cafe for some reason, possibly the slightly old-ish decor and wooden booths. After about 6 or 7 meals there, I can say: The burgers are a very reliable, delicious order. The Greek salad is also outstanding as are the fried oysters (not a regular menu item, but they have them... More

Lovingston Cafe is a sweet little charmer in the middle of sleepy Lovingston, VA which has limited dining options. This restaurant is a needed addition to the locale. We have been here several times and my husband and son usually get the burger, although they have also been successfully talked into branching out to try specials like the fried oysters... More

We were staying at a B&B for the weekend and after a full day of sight-seeing we were looking for a place close for dinner. The Lovingston Grill fit the bill. The restaurant is in a small shopping area of Main Street but not the main highway. There is an entrance to a pub right next to the Grill's entrance.... More

This is a typical café with a wide variety on the menu. We just wanted a light dinner, so this fit the bill.

We were on a road trip passing through Virginia - used to live in Virginia and missed the BBQ. (Florida's idea of BBQ is just not the same.) This was our first time at Lovingston Café - it will not be our last. We both had the BBQ dinner - husband had it with slaw and beans - I had... More
