We had a wonderful holiday at the Joshua Wilton! We had stayed here several years ago and enjoyed their meals and guest room. So, we decided to come back. We stayed in Room 2 this time, which we loved. It has a fireplace and a very comfortable queen size bed. It is not a large room, but perfect for a... More

Had dinner at the Joshua Wilton House. Everything was perfect: the house, the ambiance, the food, the staff. What a wonderful experience.

I have stayed at the Joshua Wilton House twice now, and have been happy each time. The convenience of having a restaurant right on premises is such a huge plus, especially since the food is consistently good, and the service is friendly and extremely accommodating. I would not hesitate to stay there yet again the next time I am in... More

Dinner and brunch were both excellent. Service was exceptional. Duck and filet mignon highly recommended, as well as the Grits Bowl for brunch.

Arrived without a reservation driving through town. Warmly greeted by Paul who turned out to be our excellent waiter. First time in my life eggs were cooked PERFECTLY per my request. Had poached eggs benedict-- perfect sauce, asparagus etc. Country ham is a bit salty for me but loved everything else. Perfect bloody mary to start and cheap! Husband had... More

Our visit was a bit disappointing, breakfast is no longer Served on Sunday in deference to Brunch which does hinder travellers wanting an early start. In fairness a refund for breakfast was made but this along with other niggles were the reason for the feedback. Bed was comfortable and the inn room was clean.

Beautiful setting in a very old house but well kept. We were in Harrisonburg Virginia for our daughters parents weekend at James Madison Univ. Made reservations thru open table. Was not aware of any fixed menu. I received a call 2 days prior to confirm and get a credit card. Not unusual for a busy weekend of disproportionate numbers they're... More

Beautiful old home but I was blown away by cold coming from floor duct. Staff were polite and knowledgeable. There was an extreme amount of time between courses. We were not ever asked about our satisfaction. My entrée was barely warm and my husband's was not hot either. We chose the restaurant because it was highly rated. We were in... More

We enjoyed a 5 star meal at the Joshua Wilton House restaurant. They chef is from Buckingham Palace! What more could you want! We shared a lovely salad, tried a pig belly appetizer, dinner was scallops, and duck, and finalized with an AMAZING brownie with PEANUT BUTTER ice cream. The MOST AMAZING ice cream we have ever had!

Thank Frances M

Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.
