We always stay at the Joshua Wilton House when we pass through Harrisonburg on our way south. We absolutely love their breakfast that is included each morning--homemade granola, fresh fruit & yogurt parfaits, endless pots of tea and a scrumptious, creative breakfast entree. Grits to...More

We stayed in the Inn. Had their great breakfast (did not have dinner here). We booked a bit "last minute," but we were looked after with much care and pleasant attitudes. The chef made a nice birthday "treat" for my husband at breakfast. The room...More

Great Sunday brunch at VERY reasonable prices! The same quality and ambiance that you expect. If you can get Chris as your server - it's an added bonus.

My husband and I were headed for DC and we didn't want to arrive in rush hour, so we stopped for the night in Harrisonburg at the Joshua Wilton house because it had a highly rated restaurant. We were not disappointed. Maybe we are getting...More

This restaurant is in an immaculately restored Victorian home. Presentation and service are very upscale. We had the pastry basket, eggs Benedict with asparagus & quiche with spinach salad at brunch. Excellent coffee. All the food had an elegant touch, and it was very good....More

Beautiful historic home being carefully restored as an inn and a first-class restaurant. Highly recommended for fine dining. Not stuffy, just elegant.

Date Night Thursday happened to also be a birthday event. This Thursday offering provides great cuisine even without their broader menu. Corn chowder or house salad both were tried, both were very fine. Pork Medallions as a main course proved a winner. Staff most excellent.

This is the first time we've been here since new ownership. Nothing has changed except the addition of a Kureg coffee maker in the upstairs mezzanine. Two steps out my door and I can bring coffee back into my room, or grab a bottle of...More

It is my understanding that a transition in ownership is taking place. Knowing who are expected to be the new owners, given their outstanding track record, I expect it will regain its status as an excellent venue.

Description
Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.
