We had a very nice lunch after a tasting. Presentation was very nice. Prices were reasonable. Server was very personable and attentive. Kitchen was quick. We started with a flatbread: good crust, dried fig pretty seedy but tasty, Benton's ham was not to be found, acidic goat cheese would have paired better against the sweet fig than ricotta, and perhaps... We appreciate your visit and your judicious assessment of your meal. We are pleased with the relationships with growers and suppliers that Chef Mitch has cultivated. Some points we can only pass along to back of house staff for our betterment (there should definitely be ham on the flatbread!), though some instances may be simple matters of preference (we encourage... This is a restaurant that wants so badly to be upscale, but just misses the mark. Several examples: A spinach salad with beautiful dark green crisp spinach, but to little dressing and minuscule, but tasty pickled onion and only a hint of egg or a deliciously cooked fried chicken, moist and perfectly cooked, but with accompaniments that totally missed the... We came to visit friends and ate lunch. The water boy was needed training on how to pour water. He poured it over the table into our glasses; the metal pitcher was a bad choice for it, the ice came rushing out and water went everywhere. Then, he picked the ice off the floor with his hands, put it back... More

Thank you for the feedback and for bringing these service issue to our attention. We will address them immediately. The Shrimp and Grits price has gone up because we are using shrimp locally caught in North Carolina, not farm raised, and not a mass market shrimp. Additionally, we are using local pork and not mass produced products. We believe that... More

We visited Chateau Morrisette on a beautiful spring morning. The setting was serene and the winery facilities were beautiful. My family and I took part in a wine tasting while there. We tried ten different wines at a nice calm pace. A nice variety of wines is always available. The staff will guide you through what they have and help... More

Thank you for your visit and review. Our tasting list usually features many of our most popular wines and changes periodically. For a more intimate experience and a different variety of wines, patrons can schedule elite tastings at least 2 weeks in advance for $40. We look forward to seeing you again! More

Sign up for emails to learn when special offers and music, meals, etc. are going on. Look for case deals, tours, tastings. Nice place to go just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Geared more for adults than children. Always a lovely clean facility. Friendly staff. A don't miss, also a great place for a girls afternoon out. Enjoy!

Our reservation for lunch was honored on time. Service was prompt. Bread was outstanding. The rose' was not too good but the Cabernet was excellent. The French dip was good and the burger was better than your usual burger.

Overall experience is very good. Wines are good, food is very good and view is outstanding. Wife had the fish and it was excellent, I had the quail and it was OK but lacking something. Dessert was very good. Wait staff need a little polishing up and learn to keep the tables properly bussed.

After a wine tasting and purchase, my family and I enjoyed a picnic at one of the gazebos. It is a beautiful place. I look forward to going again in the summer when they have live bands.

Service can be slow but if you are going to eat a meal in a beautiful location such as this place, just relax and enjoy. Their wines run the gamut from $5-$22 a glass and you should be able to find something drinkable. Small menu changes frequently. I had the bison meatloaf, which was a special, and a glass of... Chateau Morrisette offers fine dining in a casual setting. Located along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd County, Virginia, Chateau Morrisette sits at 3500 feet with spectacular views of the valley below. Chef Cooper Brunk creates authentic Appalachian-French fusion cuisine designed to pair with the wide assortment of wines produced in our cellar. Guest favorites include Our Dog Blue paired with Bacon-wrapped Shrimp with Grits, herb crusted sirloin with Petit Verdot, lamb paired with Chambourcin, and our Chateau Filet paired with Merlot. Vegetarians enjoy a variety of dishes as well. With two estate gardens, Chateau Morrisette provides seasonal offerings to insure quality and freshness. Guest may dine by the fire in the colder months or outside on our terrace in the warmer months. And of course, a visit to Chateau Morrisette is not complete without a stop in our Tasting Room for a sampling of our wines and a little shopping for unique gifts and accessories.
