A review said it was not high end dining. There is a nice country feeling to the place. That's generally ok with me, but the food needs to be good; not over salted; not overcooked... my god!! the green beans appeared to be from a can, soft and over-cooked. The mashed potatoes were over salted - And, my country ham..,... More

The most amazing fried chicken. Dine family style to try more than one main course. Open limited hours, check ahead. Very reasonable pricing. Friendly waitstaff, everything done right. Delish!

Just had a good dinner at Pine Tavern. Left with full bellies as usual and had good service with a very accomodating waitress for our large party and cranky 2yo nephew. My sister in law went to the restroom and fell in a hole outside the ladies room and hurt her already messed up wrist and twisted her ankle-- a... More

Home cooking just like Mom's. If you like fried chicken, ham, fresh salads, biscuits, and all you care to drink for all beverages, this is the place for you. Great service and enchanting atmosphere.

I was with a large group there and we were seated in a separate room for dinner. The food was very good and the service was good, but it took a long time to get the food which was served family style so the extremely long wait was a problem. We were served salads right away, but the meats and... More

Historical tavern/restaurant serving home style meals. Fried catfish meal was very good. Although I didn't stay in one of their cabins or rooms, they looked very nice

This was recommended by a ""local." Order family style and you get more than enough of everything and if it's not enough, you can have seconds. The two of us couldn't eat all of the first round, but we tried! You can also order individual meals, but why would you?

Ok real simple ... Chicken and choice of another meat ( roast beef, pulled pork, or country ham). All the sides on the menu ... Mashed potatoes, dumplings, beans, cabbage and of course homemade biscuits. And of course after your stuffed and can't eat anymore you can pick a dessert ( peach cobbler or brownie). Drink included too all for... More

Handsome husband and I had just arrived at the Pine Tavern Lodge after driving four hours in the rain and fog. The innkeeper informed us that the Tavern had 3 flatscreen TVs (to include the VT game), southern food and craft beer on tap. SOLD! We enjoyed another Hokie win in a friendly atmosphere!!!
