A little hole in the wall. None too clean. My chips, it turned out, were moldy. The guac was turning brown (not fresh). The fish tacos were a nice try, but clearly the guy behind the counter did not know what he was doing. Wickedly over priced.

The woman at Cinema Taco was very nice and quick. This is not a sit-down restaurant so much as a grab-n-go sort or place. The beef was not ground finely, more chunky and tasted like steak. Very good for a speedy bite before my flight home.

Maybe it was because we were half starved when we got there. Maybe it was because hello, TACOs, how can you go wrong? Maybe it's because it was for real just delicious, but wow! my sweet potato and onion with rice and black bean burrito was THE BOMB! And just $8. It was gigantic. Washed it down with a beer,... Average food with set up like a cafeteria or a sandwich shop. In other words, you go down a line and they add ingredients. Nice kids working the place, but the nachos and the salads were ordinary overall. Given the number of restaurants in the area, I would say hold out for something better.

After touring around the area we found ourselves ravenous and went searching for something to eat. The Mall as it is knows is a very fun place to visit itself with unique shops and outdoor eating areas down the entire street (it is closed to through traffic). The restaurants on the street place menus on the windows/doors so you can... More

Great location--along the walking shopping/dining area. You can dine in or carry your food outside to the reserved tables. Staff were (colorfully decorated) friendly. That's where the positive comments end The inside is dark and unattractive. Outside appears ideal until you start eating. Then squirrels surround the table and keep angling closer trying to get your food. (Also saw a... More

Cinema Taco has great fresh Mexican staples like tacos and burritos. The wait can sometimes be a little long, but well worth it. We go there for lunch occasionally and keep coming back.

Empanadas are probably one of my favorite foods. So when I was visiting Charlottesville, I happened to notice Cinema Taco in the downtown mall was serving them. I figured I would give them a try! Boy, did I regret it. The flavors just weren't there. They were dry and the pastry, hard. Maybe they should stick to what's in the... More

Not just your regular Mexican food place. They give it some style with their own take on their sweet potato empenadas and their mountain nachos. Try their fish tacos and other treats.

We needed a quick lunch with outdoor seating since we had our dog with us. While walking on the pedestrian mall, we saw a family eating tacos with soft corn tortillas. We asked their opinion of Cinema Taco next to the Jefferson Theater. They highly recommended the Baja Fish Tacos. We enjoyed those (fish prepared for us, right out of... More
