I've always enjoyed any meal at Fellini's. I've also had some great drinks with friends while listening to classy live music - I've typically gone in for jazz or crooners. The ambiance is warm wood and romantic lighting, Go on a warm evening and try to get a seat by the open windows.

Our waitress was the best. We stopped in for dinner and stayed for the late band. The short rib dish is a must. We will stop in again on our next visit.

Love the relaxed atmosphere and jazz on Sundays. The food and beverage choices are not extensive but really can't go wrong with any of them. Good stuff.

I'd like to give it a 4 because the food we had was good enough, but there are other flaws. The Italian menu is limited with a few pastas and a half dozen or so entrees. It should be expanded & modernized. There were 2 specials, including penne with pulled pork ragu which was very good. The spaghetti bolognese was... More

I must say that the food in this restaurant was magnificent. The reviews posted here did not lead us astray. I would have given this five stars but they did not have sparkling Pellegrino water. They accommodated my wife's dietary needs. She ordered a chicken dish with sautéed spinach and oven roasted potatoes. The spinach and chicken were excellent. The... More

Quaint little Italian restaurant. My husband found it when he looked on line for a piano bar when we were visiting Charlottesville. Food was fresh and outstanding, in my case the arugula salad and Bolognese - both absolutely delicious! I wished I had this bar & restaurant near me at home in northern Virginia, as it would totally be my... More

First, the people who work here--from the owner to the staff--are wonderful. Second, they always have great music. Third, good prosecco on draft! Most important -- the food. So delicious. On this night, duck, veal, and pork (three different entrees, three people). All perfect. We love to sit in the bar. Cozy and comfortable. Just go.

The good food and nice ambiance was countered by the discovery of a shard of metal in the vegetable lasagna, inattentive server, and incorrect charges on our bill. The reaction to our reporting metal in the food was way too nonchalant. Ordered wine and was brought the wrong wine, then charged for yet a different bottle which was 25% more... More

This is jacie the owner of fellinis #9 reading in horror of your experience here. Please accept my apology for your dining experience. This is certainly not how we should handle something as serious as a metal shaving in your food. I was told by the server later that it was from the stainless steel scrubber we use on our... More

We found this charming restaurant right off the Historic Mall. We decided to go in as they had a musician playing romantic songs on his electric guitar. We were so lucky to have walked in as this was simply the most delicious dinner we had in Charlottesville. The special of the evening was fish. We each ordered the house salad... More

Local institution that was under different ownership for a bit and, well, that didn't work. So back under previous ownership and everything is cool again. When we were there, big group was there doing an F Scott Fitzgerald themed dinner and that gets the feel of the place perfectly. Food was uniformly excellent; jazz on weekends; definitely worth a visit... More

The restaurant is located in a building constructed in the mid-1800's. The building won the "Historic Preservation Award" in 2004. The windows contain glass from the original building. The floors are made of distressed pine recovered from Virginia barns and buildings. Also indoors you will find a delightful horseshoe shaped Copper Topped Bar, walls covered in brick and wormed-chestnut, stained glass partitions from the original building as well as a romantic fireplace, wooden tables and restored pine benches and chairs. We display art from local artisans for your enjoyment and our decor includes many original Fellini movie posters throughout the bar and restaurant. The atmosphere at Fellini's #9 is casual elegance - delicious meals, cozy atmosphere and romantic melodies from the piano in the bar. We have many Italian wines as well as a variety from Virginia and around the world. We have beers on tap and "Fellini's" cocktails.

Be sure to include Fellini's #9 in your plans - before or after an event at the Paramount, a relaxing dinner after a beautiful hike at Monticello or for a romantic interlude to your hectic schedule.
