This was the first time that we went to Peasant, having heard good things. We will definitely go back. The food was outstanding - excellent flavors, freshly made. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The waitstaff was friendly and professional. It is definitely worth the 45 minute drive we had to get there. I had a pasta special with mushrooms... More

A favorite restaurant with warm hospitality, excellent variety of food, presented by friendly locals who make guests feel like family. Owner Chris takes pride in reasonably priced wine list and menu. This place is a winner! CaptMakai

Dinner was very good and the service was also very good. The focus is on pastas, so my wife was in heaven. All was very good, but I would have preferred more non-pasta options. If pasta is your thing, you will have the meal of your life.

This is a superb small restaurant in Waitsfield, lots of character, great food and personal attention from the chef/owner. The food was cooked to perfection, and beautifully served. Very nice affordable wine list.

While staying at the Sugartree Inn in Warren, VT, my wife and I asked the innkeepers to recommend a nice restaurant for dinner. They suggested Peasant, a restaurant in the nearby town of Waitsfield. There was a limited menu; this is often better since each dish tends to be one of their specialties. My main dish consisted of Vermont pork... More

Had dinner at Peasant on Saturday, 10/1. The food was excellent. Started with the pureed garlic and tomato soup - smooth and super (pun intended) flavorful. Our entrees were the pork bolognese pasta and the spicy shrimp. They were both outstanding. Service was efficient and friendly. We also tried an interesting local wine, a frontenac gris. a new hybrid grape... More

The simple menu at Peasant is more than sufficient - everything we tried was absolutely delicious! The ambience was pleasant, the waitstaff excellent. Will definitely be going back. Only peeve applies to most restaurants no alcohol-free beer. Wish they stocked Erdinger. Better to stock nothing than stock O'Douls.

Our party of 4 enjoyed a good meal and excellent service at this restaurant. It was recommended by the host at our B&B and the recommendation was well seserved.
