Menu has something for everyone. Speciality is steak, was only OK. The chicken parm was good as was the broiled seafood mix. We went on a busy winter holiday night, very crowded and service on the slow side. I imagine this is not always the case.

Dined here one night while in Springfield. Parking was a little tough because of the crowd even though we stopped in at 5:15. After about a 15 minute wait we were seated and did wait a bit for our waitress who by the way was somewhat slow but extremely pleasant. We ordered the salad bar, which was excellent with a... More

The place was dirty and by this I mean tables, floor, dishes, very uncomfortable seating. The waitress was rude and unattentive. I found a hair in my salad and told the waitress. I said someone should check the salad. She didn't even apologize or anything or offer another alternative. Then I said I shouldn't be charged for this when the... More

We got there at 4 pm, the place was empty, got our favorite warm booth.the filet is served on a 750 degree rock and you control the cooking!! I got the broiled halibut....nice & tender. We both got the salad bar...so much to choose from!

Dont waste your $$. They were wonderful when they first opened, but we experienced dry tough prime rib, greasy over cooked and gross fries as well as not clean utensils. It is a shame, because cooking on the rock is an awesome concept and they are the only ones who do it. From the minute we walked in till the... More

Aten here a few times. The salad bar is pretty good, the bread was hot. The prime rib was great but don't touch the seafood. I got the fried fish platter the scallops were raw in the center and there breading needs some work.

My wife nod I tried Black Rock for the first time this week. We enjoyed the early bird specials. I had the filet mignonette, and my wife had the haddock. The salad bar was full of fresh veggies, lettuce, bread, and soup. The steak served on a cooking rock was a nice touch, and added to the eating experience.

Black Rock is by far the best place to eat here in town. Their food is delcious, the waitresses are wonderful and the overall experience was great! The atmosphere was awesome. If you visit you must try the salad bar!

I visited with two Springfield natives on Dec. 27. The menu is varied with specials including salmon, fried oysters and lunch regulars featuring fried whole belly clams. The salad bar is extremely fresh and complete and is $4.---additional. The clams were succulent and flavorful with very tangy , creamy tartar sauce. Sweet potato fries were the garnish and they were... More

Well worth the wait on a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon! There was something for everyone and the portions were enormous. High quality beef as well as the never ending salad bar. Excellent! We all had to take part of our meals home. Perfect for the next day.

Thank Joni L
