We ate here about 6 months ago while visiting the area and weren't really impressed then. Bit our favorite place 56 St was closed so off we went o Black Rock again. Well still not super impressed. The salad bar is awesome but the steak...More

Food was great; prices, I guess normal for area; it was at dinner time, but it was so loud in the restaurant it was hard to have a conversation!

We popped in while visiting the #hartnesshousemansion and found good food with prompt service for dinner. My husband had prime rib which was good and I the soup and salad. Prices were reasonable and it seemed to be quite popular with locals.

Ordered an expensive steak ($35!) medium rare and it came absolutely raw, which led to getting sick. Waitress sounded way too scripted and vapid. Salad bar was good as well as the environment, although the building is situated next to a car dealership with all...More

I reviewed the Black Rock over a year ago and said at that time that I had the best Parmesan Chicken that I could remember. It was for me one of the meals that I often remember and compare that dish in my mind when...More

We all thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. Cooking steaks over black rocks is enjoyable and delicious. Don't pass on the salad bar which is so far above the standard salad bar with offerings like eggplant, stuffed grape leaves, pepperoni and cheese wheel. Everything was...More

It's one of the only gigs in town so it's often busy. But it's dark and cold and the food is honestly average. The seafood hasn't been fresh the last few times I ate there. The salad bar is really nice.

We've eaten at the Black Rock many times and the food has always been good to excellent, whether we've ordered meat or seafood. I was wary of rock-cooking at first, but persuaded when a friend tried it. It's fun, you get to choose exactly how...More

As far as we can tell, 90%+ of the customers get their meat cooked in the kitchen...we always do. While it might be fun someday to try "the rock", so far we've just enjoyed the great food.
