Our meal was going amazing. The appetizers were delicious. I was ready for the main course when Chef Mueller himself came out and gave us our chicken. We were astonished by how nice his new haircut was he put the plates down on the table...and we asked if we could take a photo with him. He politely agreed. We then moved onto desert. Chef Mueller again, came and hand-delivered our food, everything was going great but the tables had turned they’ve given us mint ice cream I huff and I puffed and I turned around. I glared at chef Mueller and I told him to shove it.More

We entered downstairs at 6:30. We were told we'd have a "better chance of being seated" upstairs in the pub, so we did that. We ordered beverages (2 waters, one beer) around 6:35 and then ordered our meals (potato skin appetizer, beef stew special, burger...special, grilled chicken sandwich) a few minutes later when our drinks arrived (around 6:40). At 7:10, after watching tables who came in after us get multiple rounds of drinks and even their entrees, I asked our server where the appetizer was. He said it'd be out in a minute. At 7:15, we were served overcooked (dark and crispy) but cold potato skins. While we were eating these, the server came back to say that they'd "just sold out" of the burger special and we had to choose something different. My friend ordered a different burger. At 7:45, we still didn't have our entrees. My husband went and found the waiter and explained we had an 8 pm concert to attend, asking where our food was. Our food was brought to us at 7:50, a full hour and 10 minutes after we placed our order. The chicken sandwich was completely charred and the burger that was ordered medium-rare was well done. During that whole wait time, the waiter never came back to refill drinks. We left the restaurant at 8:05. It is unbelievable that other tables were in and out faster than it took us to get a simple appetizer. This waiter needs major training. It's clear he didn't put our order in when he took it. We were late to the concert we paid good money to see due to his ineptitude. We will not be stepping foot in this restaurant again.More

Excellent throughout. Great service, fabulous wine, delicious starter (wedge salad) and mains (statler chicken and boneless ribeye. OMG you have to have the side of brussels - I hate brussels sprouts but these are amazing!

Food quality seems to have gone down. Our dinners (Frnch dip and chicken fingers) we adequate. Staff were helpful and attentive. We were speechless to see a “1.5% kitchen service fee” on our bill as there was no signage or notice on the menu. We...asked the server who explained, and politely tried to say that many Vt. restaurants are doing this to support kitchen staff. We eat out A LOT throughout New England and have not seen it before. My better half was livid.More

My husband and I had dinner here the night of Sept 29th. The food and service were excellent! We started off with the crab cake which was quite good but a bit small for the price of $17. But, at least it was filled with...crab and not all filler. For our main courses I had the broiled scallops which came with a side dish and I picked the rice pilaf. They gave me 7 nice size scallops which was great because some places only give you 3 or 4. My husband had the broiled seafood platter with French fries. We both loved our entrees. My husband mentioned to our waiter who was really great, that it was our 40th anniversary and he gave us a free dessert on the house, which I thought was so nice. We had a VERY chocolatey cake, so if you are a real chocolate lover, you will love it. I highly recommend The Windjammer! For you landlubbers, there are many beef/chicken dishes. We saw lots and lots of prime ribs coming out of the kitchen!More

Had the specials that night - Harvest Salad - Salmon - wild rice - and dessert. Harvest salad was one of the most impressive and delicious salads I think I have ever had!! Delicious, plentiful, and very reasonably priced. The entree was on the stingy...side, but delicious. Dessert was good. Had a Shed's Mountain Ale - local craft beer - and water. Server was very attentive, timely, and pleasant. A very good supper!More

Made a 630 reservation on a Thursday for my wife's birthday dinner....one with a zero at the end! Knew they'd be busy. after an hour. no food. I went to the front desk and asked for a manager. He patiently explained that a wedding party...added 40...yes 40...people for dinner without notice. Manager offered free desserts or drinks, we gratefully declined. Waitress offered a free shrimp cocktail. Also, thanks but no thanks. We enjoyed a perfectly cooked meal, great value and impeccable service. Goes to show, with a quality house, even when they are "in the weeds", they make a meal a quality experience. Bottom line, if you only have one meal in Burlington, the Windjammer is the right call.More

We chose the Pub section for an informal relaxing meal and that’s what we got! Comfortable tables spaced a part for privacy. Enjoyed great seafood at a very reasonable price. Server was attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommend it!

This is a very nice restaurant, located in a hotel. The inside looked very nice, but it was a nice night so we ate on the patio, under the canopy, which was good because there was a downpour while we were there! They were able...to drop the sides to keep the rain from coming in. Two of us had the Broiled Seafood Platter (one Gluten-Free), one had Prime Rib, one had Surf and Turf. The food and portions were all very good. For dessert, a couple had the Creme Brulee and the Brownie Sundae. Again, large portions - in fact the Brownie Sundae was HUGE, large enough for 4 of us to have eaten it! Our server, Jennifer, was friendly and fun. It turns out she was from a town near one of us, so we had a nice chat!More

Food was good but we didn’t feel anything special about our meals. My wife had the startled chicken which was a good sized meal. I on the other hand had the seafood platter and expected a bit more than three scallops, three shrimp, and a...piece of breaded haddock the size of the bottom of our water glasses. Our waitress never brought us our dinner rolls or offered to fill our water glasses even though they were almost empty and the temperature was in the mid 80s. Overall I would say this is a restaurant to avoid with so many other choices along the waterfront with great views.More

We were staying in South Burlington and found the Windjammer Restaurant on TripAdvisor. It was a quick drive from our hotel, and we were surprised to see so many cars in front on a weekday. The restaurant is beautifully designed, and we were seated on...the lower level by request. Our waiter, Louie was very welcoming and is one of the most professional waiters we've ever met. He was patient while my wife asked questions before ordering her meal. Water glasses were constantly filled without request. My wife had the broiled salmon with bearnaise sauce, and a side order of asparagus. I had the Boston baked haddock with a side order of creamed spinach. Both meals were very tasty and certainly filling. The complimentary rolls were freshly baked and very good. We would definitely return if we were in the area.More

Amazing outdoor patio seating. Ice water was offered immediately for our dog and wait staff came back later with a milk bone biscuit for him. Great hospitality from Francesca E. Then food arrived - featured burger was excellent and the shepherd’s pie was pretty good...as well. We always appreciate good hospitality and Windjammer delivered that and more.More

Shared a salad. Huge salad with nice items. Chicken was added to the salad. Middle prices: Not inexpensive but could have been worse at other restaurants. $22 for a salad with chicken seems high but it was large and was enough food for two people.

We went for a birthday celebration and had a party of 8. We were seated very quickly. This review is based solely on my experience. I ordered the wedge salad, potatoes (something, obviously very forgettable) and broccolini. They forgot to order my salad so I...had to wait an extra 15+minutes for it, then when I got it I was a little more than surprised and let down at the same time (this was my own fault as I did not read past (wedge salad) Theirs is served on romaine lettuce NOT the usual iceburg, dinner beware! The creamed spinach and broccolini were very good! The potatoe something was horrible! Not only was it barely lukewarm it was extremely pasty and totally inedible. I did inform the waiter and it was removed from my tab. Bottom line... I'm on the fence about whether I would visit this place again on my next trip to Vermont.More
