The BBQ at Curtis's is very good. My wife loves BBQ and loved Curtis. Compared to what is available in the area it is excellent. I do not particularly like BBQ and rated this as average - thus an average of very good. A bit too rustic and casual for me but my wife enjoyed the sauce very much.

I have been going here 35 years sense he first opened in his little camper. I love the food and it's not fancy but best BBQ in the world, all cooked out side on an open fire. The beans were homemade you can't beat that for the price and was given lots of food.

Curtis's ribs and pulled pork trailer has been in a parking lot in Putney for 40 years and it still attracts a crowd whenever he's open. He has limited hours and closes oct 30, but well worth the visit. There's nothing else like it in Vermont. He has a variety of sides like collars greens, but the ribs and pork... More

You gotta check this out. Nothing fancy, just great food done over a open fire. If your within 50 miles it's worth the trip. Do not expect something fine dinning. I would bet if you go, you will go again..The average price for a hefty meal can cost between 15 or 20 bucks.Worth every cent. Enjoy

We came across Curtis BBQ by accident. It was a good find. True Vermont BBQ as we imagined it. Very succulent meat and great flavour. People were lining up to get there's and I can understand why

Curtis BBQ not only has the greatest BBQ food but it is a fun place to eat. This is like none other, a blast from the past as one might say. I had the pulled pork but the collard greens were wonderful also. We sat at picnic tables outside and feasted. I saw an article about Curtis BBQ in the... More

Curtis BBQ is an institution in Putney VT. Curtis returns north each summer and mans his outdoor, very rustic BBQ setup, chatting with his guests as he tends to the cooking. The results are not as moist as BBQ that is prepared in a closed unit, but the experience at Curtis' is quite unusual.

Curtis stands out in the 90 degree heat over smoldering, smoking fire and roasts each side of ribs till they are perfectly done. Order a "half slab hot" for one person, the "hot" referring to the spice in the sauce. The meat is so tender it practically falls of the bone. Plus! He has a HUGE sink with a HUGE... More

We stopped at Curtis Bar -B-Q out of curiosity on the way to UVM. It was an interesting place as described by the other reviewers. Curtis was there barbecuing chickens on a large outdoor grill. It was fairly crowded but our service was quick and polite. It is rustic but was clean. Our food was good. I had the loaded... More
