Great restaurant! We spent a week skiing at Smugglers Notch and ate here every night. It's privately owned and the owner is on site to run the kitchen. What a job he does! From appetizers to salads to entrees and deserts everything is first rate. Wouldn't eat anywhere else.

We enjoyed eating at the hearth and candle, I started with the potato leek soup that was a special. It was ok. The special steak was very good, but a bit pricey. The cost of the bottle of wine, though made up for it.

Every single thing about this restaurant from start to finish was nothing less than fantastic. The food was to be savored slowly while luxuriating in the warm and friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. We were dining with a “foodie” couple from New York City and they were beyond satisfied. What a gem of a place this is and will go... More

Had dinner here and wish I had been able to try brunch. The food was delicious, portions perfect and service great. Not inexpensive but not overpriced for what is served. They do have a children's menu, but also a separate dining room for adults only is desired. would recommend.

The atmosphere is very nice, and the location is very convenient if staying at Smugglers Notch for skiing, etc. However, they really do the "I got you" with pricing on entrees. Food was very good, however, for 5 of us, the tally was $200! That was without appetizers or anything added such as salads, deserts. I enjoyed the convenience, but... More

I was shocked to see the entry pricing at $40 a plate. No entertainment at night but expensive dinners... no thank you.

We had a lovely tasty dinner for two upstairs. Nice selection of local cheeses. Menus that please carnivores, vegetarians, and pescatarians.

It was ok, nothing great. The graveyard of "dead" flavors was fun. Turkey Hill Experience in PA is better IMO.

Hi Marie! I believe that you have posted this review on the wrong page? "Graveyard of flavors" used in a restaurant review would be hilarious, just hope that it is never used to describe us!! Best, Carrie Ferguson The Hearth & Candle Restaurant More

We went here for dinner one evening and everything about it was excellent. The service was great and the food was incredible. We both got the special strip steak and it was cooked perfect. We both wanted to lick the plate it was so good! The cheese , fruit and Cristini app was incredible with specialty cheese selections. Dinner was... More

We have been coming here once a year for maybe the last15 years, and it continues to be very good. The atmosphere is very nice, particular in the Birch room, try to get that. And in fact the owners recognized us from the previous years. They use a good deal of local products in the dishes and dishes well prepared.... More
