This place had the best Reuben sandwich Everything home made, in store. I guess the owner of the building upped their rent and ran them out of business. Really makes no sense, there's very few places to eat in town. They own the clothing business across the street, and word is they're going to move the deli there? That's what... More

We went to have lunch here and discovered it was closed. It was very good when open--last year friends and I had a nice lunch here, and we anticipated the same in 2015. Alas, no more.

This cafe/deli (Also known as The Yellow Deli) is part of an international community of faith-based businesses. First, the fare: sandwiches, baked goods, salads, coffees/teas, and modest prices. Everything is straightforward, fresh, and decently presented. You can't do a lot better in a place like Island Pond, which is close to being the end of civilization. Some people might be... More

Cool artsy decor. Some of the best home fries I've ever had just because they were so different. Worth the long wait for food as it was all delicious. Excellent homemade breads and pastries. Let's face it, there's not a lot of choices up this way for restaurants, but this is a special place in the kingdom and worth a... More

Recently visited Common Sense for the first time, lunch with friends, and was pleasantly surprised to have an excellent Reuben Sandwich--the best I have had in some time. All of the other luncheon companions were pleased as well with their order. The waitress was efficient, the atmosphere pleasant, and the restaurant clean. My order was half a sandwich and a... More

I have been looking for a good pancake since Maple Grove Farms of vt changed their mix from New Hope Mills custom mix and The Common Sense Cafe's is the best Pancake of all! Delicious! We sat in the room with stools and a large window that was just beautiful, clean, wholesome! I cannot wait to go back, would like... More

Service great. Food wonderful. Very neat. The handmade crafted walls, ceiling, tables and chairs were to be admired. Would return again.

Now called "The Yellow Deli" this place has a rustic atmosphere that you won't see anywhere else. Often someone is playing harp or guitar, and there is nothing processed served in this place. Everything is made from scratch, and the food is amazing! Even if you just want a refreshing smoothie, you won't be disappointed. Worth the visit, friendly people!

Cycling through Island Pond we wanted to pick up a sandwich to go and stopped at the Common Sense as it was the first place we saw, it looked enticing - the decor is funky, the menu fine. We ordered drinks which took a while to appear, and two peanut butter and banana sandwiches. We waited 30 minutes for these,... More

While I was here I had a strange sensation that I was in the twilight zone. The waitresses were wearing peasant dresses from decades ago. It is not exactly business as usual. Now, on the TZ, that would mean that the prices were from the 70s too, and they are not. $2 for a cup of coffee. But they do... More

Description
It is also known as Yellow Deli. Because there are so few restaurants in Island Pond, and this one is very good, people should know about it. Also, wonderfully wacky decor!
