This location has had a very checkered history. It's been a lot of things: a pizza joint, a decent American-upscale place (the original Brown's), and then a new variant on the Brown's formula without the competence. In that last version, the food got steadily worse and more limited, while the prices steadily rose. When they finally managed to sell the... More

Food has been good most times we have been here (3x) Service is slow, but only 1 waitress doing lots of things behind the scenes. A fun place to go with friends.

We drove my wife's 93 year old uncle on a Vermont foliage tour Columbus Day weekend, and he wanted to have lunch here. A lady and her daughter opened here in June, and he had already eaten here on 3 occasions. The menu was sophisticated for the middle of nowhere, the decor comforting, and the service friendly. Allow a little... More

New family has taken over. The food is well priced. Pizza to Seafood Scampi was great. All food was priced correctly. Beer special $2.00 drafts.

We were camping at a nearby state park and once again, didn't feel like cooking. Saw the reviews and had to check it out. My girlfriend had the Rueben, which was terrific and I had the winner of a sandwich. The Vermonter, consisting of lettuce tomato and generous amounts of bacon and chopped turkey with a mayo-maple dressing...KILLER! The fries... More

Under new management since early summer 2015. More affordable now. Come and try Summer's cooking. They offer a snack bar menu/take out during the day and hearty dinners at night. Something for everyone. Open, welcoming environment. Draught beer and wine available. Dinner menu has some good comfort food options with a Southern flair. Especially enjoyed the homemade pull apart rolls.

Browns closed down last fall after a very good run for several years of fine food, drink, music and a welcoming environment. It has now re-opened with an encouraging start. The new owners apparently are originally from Alabama and they have brought some southern touches with them while linking up with local cuisine and availability of local produce. The menu... More

This place is a delightful surprise. The food is 5-star quality with unique flavors and excellent seasoning. There's often live music as well and the atmosphere is lovely. Veg friendly!

we've been here a few times in the past. The first time they were still BYO. Then they leased it to a young NECI graduate for a couple of years and they were ok. Now the owner is back and serving the customers himself. They used to have a chalk board and went around the tables with it to take... More
