If you're looking for a tasty, huge sandwich close to Burlington airport, try Martones. We ordered the full size Vermonter and between the two of us, it was enough for two meals. Loads of meat and cheese, very nice service and if you want to eat in, casual, country decor. We stop there every time we're in Vermont.

Martone's has really good food. We especially like their subs. They are a very popular place, so we find that it is best to call ahead with our order so that we can pop in and have it ready and waiting. There is inside seating, and a few tables outside on good days.

We waited for the train at Martone's one morning. The staff was accommodating. Our ride to the station dropped us off two hours early so spent most of it in Martones. They didn't have breakfast so we got BLTs instead. The best bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich ever. Good coffee too. It's nice that when the refurbished the place they... More

I have been to Martone's many many times during past years. Every time I go inside I am very comfortable and I am inside a true Vermont tradition, an old style with an updated feel. The food is very fresh and always enjoyable. Martone's is an anchor in the Essex Junction town block. I certainly hope it never changes as... More

We had heard Martone's is the place to go for lunch when in downtown Essex Junction. So we ordered wraps "to go" for a picnic. Great selection, and the portion sizes are HUGE. If you order a whole, then plan on eating half, and save the other half for later. Probably the best option economically, because you will pay more... More

We stopped here to get sandwiches and wraps for a picnic lunch. I got a turkey and cheddar wrap on a sun dried tomato wrap that was probably the best wrap I've ever eaten. Highly recommend Martone's for any kind of sandwich!

Martone's makes the best sandwiches I've had in the Burlington area in Vermont. Lots of great sandwich combinations and really fresh veggies, meats and cheese. The sandwiches really are huge... You're better off buying a full (for a dollar or two extra) and saving half for a second meal. The only downside is that it's pretty pricey. For a drink... More
