We had the wings (they were average) and some kind of apple, cheese, cranberry type salad. The salad was surprisingly good. The atmosphere was very bar-like. I imagine they might have live performances where people can dance. Trivia started (around 7?) on the night we were there (a Tuesday).

I'm in Essex Vermont for a conference, I wanted to try some of the local fare instead of eating at the hotel. I chose "On Tap Bar and Grill" because of Trip Advisor reviews. Being here alone, I sat at the Bar. The staff is very friendly and attentive. My drink was delivered right away and my order taken promptly.... More

We stopped here for supper. The place is popular. Even though it was crowded, the service was friendly and efficient. There was a band playing which made it tough to have a conversation at the table. We ordered the Black Bean burger, and the Turkey burger - both were a hit - but the deep fried pickles (Frickles) were amazing!!!.... More

I've been here several times. This day it was for lunch. They are more popular at night. On this day they were light on clientele which was to our benefit. I usually get a burger because they make good ones but today I got a pulled pork sandwich which was nicely laden with pork. Rather than fries I got a... More

Nice patio space. Live music. Service was a little slow. Had to ask for water twice. Food was good. Burger was excellent. Cheddar Apple salad delicious, added grilled chicken, plenty of chicken, a couple of pieces were a little dry, but not bad. Nice selection of beer.

Food and service with Vermont elements incorporated. Located near "5 Corners" which can be a challenge to travel through at rush hour. Excellent menu and drink selections . Not a Steak House, but the food is very good, and is sure to please just about everyone. Ask for "Chef Courtney" and he will come to your table, and share a Brownie... More

Family visit during early evening, midweek. Was busier than we had expected, but had a nice shady table on the secluded terrace. The food was plentiful and good American fare, the drinks were good with a large range of beers & cider on tap and the servers looked after us well. The young children in our group were catered for... More

On Tap is centrally located by the five corners in Essex and is a good spot for hearing live music and grabbing a bite and a beer. The wings are really good, as are the sweet potato fries. The burgers tend to be really overcooked. They always have a decent craft beer selection (Fiddlehead, Frost), and there are tables outside... More

I've been to OnTap several times and have been satisfied with both the food and the service each time. Although it can be a bit loud with the live music playing when trying to converse, the multiple T.V.s can help. Also, when the weather permits, dining and/or drinking outside is preferred.

Great burgers, wings, and beer. The Vermonter burger with apples and bacon was very tasty. Happy to hear the new menu will include a Reuben sandwich.
