This is our 4th visit to Chantecleer. It never disappoints. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is so very charming. The Misty Knoll chicken; halibut special; caesar salad are all extraordinary and the desserts rock! The bar is lots of fun too. You MUST come here if you are in the Manchester area. Don't miss it.

Having enjoyed Chantecleer in past seasons, we made sure to reserve two of our four nights in the area for the great food and service. We have never been disappointed . and these two special evenings were no different This restaurant is a "local's" favorite so you will need reservations, but the food choices, preparation, service and fun atmosphere are... This is simply a lovely restaurant and the most memorable meal. The service is stellar as well. My husband enjoyed the duck and venison medallions - so good we purchased a venison roast from the Manchester Butcher Shop in an effort to duplicate the recipe (ours was good, but obviously nothing like Chantecleers!). I was amazed by the octopus appetizer... More

We decided to try this restaurant after an afternoon of driving Not to far from albany and the area is beautiful. It is in an old barn and has a lot of character and ambience I had the octopus appetizer and it was prepared superbly followed by the european salad.which reminded us of Germany also excellent For a main course... We struggled to find the restaurant in the dark so were late for our booked time, but they were very gracious and we had our table. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal with good service in a busy well-heeled popular venue. If you are in the area visit this restaurant.

This restaurant is off the beaten track but worth the effort. The space is very nice with a comfortable, well-stocked bar and separate dining areas that are attractive and easy for conversation. Diverse menu and and excellent, attentive service.

My wife and I went to Chantecleer after a 20-year hiatus. We used to vacation in Manchester, VT. regularly when we lived in Albany, NY with no kids. Three moves and three kids later, we found our way back. Without reservations, we sat at the bar. The place was as rustic yet appealing as ever. The bartender was very cheerful... More

Loved the place and the owner had real style as a host. Compared with restaurants we had eaten in in NYC and London recently, we didn't consider the food exceptional (e.g. the duckling was quite tough) and the prices are comparatively high. We still rate it as a good restaurant and worth a visit.

Stayed in Manchester, VT and dined here at recommendation of hotel owner. So very glad they steered us to this facility as we would not have found by using TA for Manchester. Located in an old renovated barn this place has been chef owned for 35 years. Many of the staff are long timers - that alone says something. Our... More
