I had chicken salad served on very thick herb bread which was delicious. A side of fruit was served with it. All was served chilled & fresh. Limited wine selection but nice wines offered. Service was friendly & attentive. Second visit here & quality seems consistent. Next visit to Tyler; no doubt, a return visit... Also enjoyed cute gift shop... More

I don't know what happened to this Tyler staple, but it's BAD. WILTED produce and just a plain decline in quality. SO disappointed .😔

We went to hear a local musician on a Friday night. He was excellent and so was our server warm and friendly. The two girls ate free. I had chicken fried chicken and a side salad bar. We also had a chicken and pasta dish. My food had no seasoning and was drowned in gravy. My sweet potato fries were... More

Wonderful setting, very quiet and peaceful spot to have a meal. We sat near the waterfall area -- so very relaxing. The service is superb, and the food delicious and well presented. A definite return location for us when we are in the Tyler Texas area again.

From the moment I saw a bottle of Canyon Creek Cab for $15, I knew it was going to be a good evening. Canyon Creek is a favorite, but I can't find it at retail, and recently had seen it at any restaurants. But if they have it, try it. I ordered the special 12 oz. ribeye and salad bar... More

Beautiful place, excellent service, excellent food. I had the potato & salad bar. The cheddar soup was tops. The manager continually checked on us to see if we wanted anything more. Are party was almost 50. There were lots of local Tyler things for sale.

We thought this was a terrible restaurant, zero stars. It was 5pm and we two were the only diners in the restaurant. My wife ordered a suppossidly 6 oz. filet-mignon with a baked potato and a strawberry salad. My wife cut into her steak and noted it was not right. It was overcooked to the point of being shoe leather.... More

What a nice place. Friend and I both got the salad, soup, potato bar, and the variety was extensive. The soups were excellent, and the salad bar even included banana pudding. Our waiter was delightful and eager to please. After dinner, we checked out the gift shop and found treasures in the clearance room -Yankee candles at 75% off!

Description
Les and Carol Ellsworth opened The Potpourri House in September 1982 as a tea room in a yellow 1904 Victorian home on Front Street in Tyler. The Ellsworths made many trips to Europe to furnish the new restaurant - and every piece of furniture could be purchased by customers, including their table and chairs! Several years later, The Potpourri House moved to the Off Broadway Shopping Center and incorporated a Victorian-themed garden, with a Women's Boutique and Gift Shop. Our current 16,000 square foot location at 3320 Troup Highway has been the home of Potpourri since 1998 and continues the tradition of being Tyler's most unique shopping and dining experiences. The Potpourri House is the perfect event venue for your business meeting, seminar, fundraiser, luncheon, family reunion, wedding, wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, baby shower, award ceremony, birthday party, anniversary party, Christmas party, graduation party - whatever the occasion! Let us cater an event at your location for up to 800 people. The Ellsworth family still owns and operates the Potpourri House over 30 years later and believes in supporting family relationships. We seek to instill our values into the business at every level, including being closed on Sundays and major holidays to allow our staff to enjoy time with their own families. Whether you come to dine, shop or celebrate, the Potpourri experience is like none other in East Texas!
