Drove over to Taylor yesterday and had a great meal at Louie Mueller's. This was originally an old grocery store but their smoked meats eventually became their focus. Had the sliced brisket and also sausage. Both were great. Will come back soon. Also enjoyed the peach cobbler with ice cream on top. It was still warm.

Louis Muellers has been a favorite stop for me for twenty years. Louis' son, Bobby , was in charge then, and now his son owns it. There has been some variability during the transition after Bobby's death, but the quality is back up (as well as the prices.) It has been featured on the food channels as a quaint, out... More

Small towns in Texas all brag of their barbque. Louis Mueller's in Taylor is at the top. We were excited to go there and were lucky we got there early and had no wait. the brisket is so tender and flavorful. I had smoked turkey and it was really good. Not your usual barbque sauce but so flavorful. Great place... More

Food is just OK. VERY over priced! It's a popular place with visitors/tourist. Food isn't bad, just too expensive

I really wanted to give this 5 stars, as the brisket was impeccable. The jalapeño sausage was superb in flavor, although I didn't like that the skin was so hard to bit thru. I'm a sauce girl - and maybe it's my own ignorance, but what was on the tray was more like spicy water. So for the first time... More

When we got off the plane in Dallas we were told you have to have a Texan barbecue and it must not be a chain but a REAL one. We happened upon this place by accident whilst driving the back route to Austin from Dallas. What a wonderful discovery, the smell of smoke when you come in through the doors,... More

There are those who frequent the long time BBQ places in Texas, and this is one of them. We met our daughter and her family there for lunch over the Christmas break. We arrived at 1:00 and had a 45 minute wait in line to get our food. You order and pick up at a counter. By the time we... More

Drive out from Austin and get some real BBQ! I have hit many of the top BBQ joints in the state and this might be my favorite for the beef. Both the brisket (get it moist) and the beef ribs are fantastic. Plus this place has character that you just can't get in the city. No beer sales so bring... More

2nd time here, and every meat we tried was spot on perfect. Brisket could be cut with a fork (and very flavorful, with excellent bark and smoke ring). The Fred Flinstone sized beef rib was quite good too. To make it all healthy, we ordered some turkey. Very moist and flavorful. I like that this place is off the beaten... More
