Apparently this location for the El Bosque chain has reverted to basic Mexican cuisine as food was bland and tasteless, and frozen Margaritas were lacking any hint of tequila and were just frozen lime juice. We all had different meals with the same result from the tough as leather fajitas to enchiladas and tacos al cabon. Maybe the cooks moved... More

With all the Restaurants popping up in our area it's usually difficult to pick just one, especially Mexican. For our family it is usually El Bosque. Great Service, great food and the bill is affordable. Gotta Try It.

We love El Bosque! There are 4 in the area now, but the Portofino location is "home" for us. You simply cannot go wrong. The food is wonderful, the staff is attentive, and it's a quiet, family atmosphere, which should be an oxymoron, but isn't. There's no downside to this place. Enjoy!

We decided to go to eat late on a Fri afternoon in north Houston. A group of 8 normally would have to wait, but we got in very quickly. The fajitas were very good as was all the food for a very reasonable price. My daughters family loves this place and we lake it as well. The salsa is very... More

I used to love this restaurant, but there seems to be too much competition these days. Their food is okay (Tex-Mex), and it's within budget, but it's hidden out of the way, and you have to be going there on purpose to find it. The service is wonderful, though.

I am very picky for home prepared type Mexican food. This place has a great variety of choices and the food is excellent. It is always consistent. Fantastic Charro beans. Service is outstanding. Ambiance is typical. Best in town. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Tried to go to Chuy's but it was packed so we doubled back to El Bosque. Glad we did. Nice large menu with lots of choices, inexpensive, great service, quiet, and the food was very good. Scrub Chuy's and go here instead!

We dine at El Bosque on a weekly basis...lunch at least once or twice, dinner mid week and typically once over the weekend. The service is friendly, quick and efficient; food is always good and consistent!

Has been my favorite Mexican food for 23 years in The Woodlands, never a long wait, friendly staff and good food, reasonably price (great flavored margaritas! and green sauce)

The buffet at this restaurant has all the Tex-Mex food that you would want for Sunday brunch, ranging from very spicy meats to standard omelets. The place is very kid-friendly and service was good. Convenient to I-45 too.
