Lots of variety - a great selection of breads, pastries, pies, and cookies. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. Went home with a bag of goodies too. Just had to try a bunch of tasty looking treats.

The kolaches were ok but the rest of the baked goods were not that good. We were there during Wurstfest and perhaps the big crowds affected their quality.

Nothing should affect the quality of our baked goods, thptrek, so if anything was off the mark we want to apologize. Thank you for visiting us during Wurstfest though! We'd love another chance to serve you our very best, so please keep us in mind if you'll be in New Braunfels again soon. Best wishes, Naegelin's Bakery More

Need more and better breakfast pastries? Then Naegelin's is the spot in NB. They also had a booth at the Wurstfest for more German delights. This time I had only a cheese pocket for breakfast. Very good flaky pastry, but perhaps a bit more of the cheese filling. Outdoor seating is light, so walk over to the town circle and... More

Went in to check out the amazing selection of cakes and sweet treats and walked out with the most enormous bag of doughnut holes for my husband. Also some gorgeous strudel and pecan delicacies that disappeared very quickly and put on pounds I didn't need. Definitely worth checking out and the prices were not unreasonable.

We've been going here for years. The cherry turnovers (not my normal favorite) are so good I forgo my normal favorites. Fresh and delicious everything. My wife's Grandmother worked and lived here with her sister when they were 12 years old because they were poor and they needed them to work and live somewhere else as with 8-10 children its... More

I went to school with ghe owner's son back in the day. Going to Naeglin's was THE TREAT! The store us small, housed in an old, old building...but the quality and yumminess factor sitting in fhe display cases is worth the trip. Prices are fair for goods received. Remember you are in New Braunfels, so German influence is apparent. I... More

Although this bakery is very old and very historic, I was very disappointed with the selection. There was a very limited selection of bread and I was surprised that there were no pretzels in a German bakery. I'm not sure this was worth the stop other than the picture of the outside.

Sherri, it's not clear what time you arrived to peruse our selection, but it sounds like it may have been a bit late in the day to see how many delicious treats we actually offer. In fact, we serve sweet pretzels just like what you were looking for as well as 10 different varieties of breads, 3 varieties of rolls,... More

when we travel we try any bakery we pass. Our middle son has special needs and hopes that every one has a gingerbread man cookie. Not only did Naegelin's have it, but it's one of their specialties and one of the best we've ever had. Our mistake is that we only bought 3.

Description
The fresh cookies, pastries, pies and cakes from Naegelin's Bakery are of historic proportions and timeless quality. It's all in the preparation. The Granzin family still uses recipes developed by the Naegelin family during more than a century of experimentation to get the right ingredients. As you walk into the front door of the bakery, the sweet smell of baked foods engulfs you like a warm blanket. The glass cases are full of what seems like an almost endless array of cookies and pastries in a rainbow of colors. The bakery is still famous for their strudels that Naegelin perfected years ago. The Granzin's have added terrific sausage kolaches in addition to the menu of fruit filled kolaches. We suggest you try the popular favorite: the Lebkuche, a thick, rectangular brown cookie covered with pink frosting. Don't forget to try our apple strudel! We look forward to seeing you soon!
