My mom took my son and I here for the first time and we really enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly. I ordered the fried catfish and he got the shrimp. Each came with two sides. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. You can tell they cook with love. I also ordered the sweet tea and was warned... More

First if all, this is the only restaurant open after 3 in McQueeney in the winter. The lodge is members only and seasonal. The burgers are best around (well beyond McQ) for lunch and the prime rib is the dinner special. I prefer mine rare or med rare but it is definitely best when it has slow roasted the extra... More

We're staying in Seguin and a friend told us about this little place next door in McQueeney. We stopped by to give it a try and boy were we surprised. From the outside it looks like many old buildings in small Texas towns (which is a good thing) and the interior is also old school. This building has been many... More

This is a first time lunch spot for my family. Blake's Cafe has good reviews, and great Chicken Fried Steak! If you are in the area you need to stop for a visit.

If you find yourself here you're probably at the lake or hunting nearby. I was here after a morning dove hunt and was seating right away, it was pretty busy at this time, and the staff was very friendly. I had the lunch portion of the chicken fried steak. I thought it was cooked very well, the mac'n cheese and... More

Chicken fried steak was excellent. Appetizers were half orders which was just the right amount of food. Service was good.

If you like good prime rib this is the place, they have three sizes and I always get the middle size as it has more meat than the smaller cut. Be sure and get it rare if you like prime rib. You can also get 4 extra fried shrimp which my wife likes for a few dollars more. If you... More

We have eaten at Blakes many times over the last 10 years. Tonight we had the prime rib with bake potato and fried zucchini. The prime rib was good just the best I have had there. The fried zucchini and fried okra is the best.

Have wanted to stop in & eat for a while & finally had the opportunity. Burger & onion rings were great. Tasty bread. Service was a bit slow but will likely try it again soon.

Thank Lyndi M
