Skip the high tea and spend your money on a nice selection tea. We visited as a day out during our vacation period in Friesland. Our intention was to buy tea but ended up reserving the high tea after checking the website. On the positive...side, the English type garden is beautiful and on nice weather you can enjoy drinking tea In the garden. The tea shop is a real treat for tea lovers, offering a wide range of teapots, cups and accessories together with an extensive range of different types of teas from across the world. And now onto the negative. The high tea, is the most awful I’ve ever had and totally over-priced for what is served. The high tea consists of 2 courses, savory and sweet served with 2 different types of teas. There is no choice of tea served with the 1st course and for the 2nd, both persons are obliged to choose the same tea as you can not choose an individual small pot of tea for one. The savory course consists of a savory muffin and quiche, both served warm and heated in a MICROWAVE, thus both of them are soft and saggy and muffin appeared to be steamed. Really disgusting. My husband commented on this with 2 of the waitresses and one replied that they’d already received several complaints about the muffin. Really ?? And they continue to serve them in the same way. The sweet course was the same. Warm scones, again from the MICROWAVE served with jam and cream from a can. Do yourself a favor, save your money. We paid €46 for 2 persons, definitely a one-time event. NEVER AGAIN!More

If you like tea, you shouldn't miss this place! There's a small museum showing everything from planting and cultivating tea plants to harvesting and fermenting, trading and drinking tea. The museum has an entry fee, but you can enter the tea shop and tea room...free of charge. The shop offers a wide range of tea, crockery and gifts. The tea room tends to be busy from time to time, so if you want to come with a larger group, it might be sensible to book a table beforehand (this is possible as far as I know). You can taste a large variety of teas, you can get coffee, there's scones, sandwiches and more. Good value for money and very friendly staff.More

Incredible selection of teas, freshly brewed on your table. We also enjoyed some nice scones and some cake to go with our Oolong and SF Darjeeling! The sun was out when we visited and sitting outside, sipping a lovely cup of tea, was a delight....We also couldn't resist the temptation to buy some tea to take home (not that we needed much encouragement, after the excellent teas we drank at the Theefabriek). If only other villages on our trip had a place like this.....More

It's a nice place to visit with a fun gift shop. I must say I didn't experience it as a museum, but good to visit with kids I suppose.

The landscape of the province Groningen has a unique emptiness that not all know how to appreciate but I love and adore it. There, in the middle of nowhere you can spoil yourself with tea and pastries served in a beautifully renovated (abandoned) church. The...menu serves hundreds of teas, and my absolute favorite is the "Thé Complet" where tea (or coffee!) is served with sandwiches, muffins and scones. And those scones (with cream and strawberry jam!) have made me lost in the world. Ever since I ate them I try to find something that even remotely tastes the same. Thus far without any result.More
