Bistro le Cep was sold by Joe Manke, the original owner. Since then, it has gone down hill.As reviewers said, the food is nothing special, it is not French, and the menu is very tired. The spatzle is tasteless and dry. The chicken is dry and seems microwaved. The last dessert we had was meringue and was not possible to... More

Seriously doubt that the chef has eve been to France. I can get a better baquette at Trader Joe's across the street! And what is the point of escargots served outside the shell? And not delicately basted with garlic butter but DROWNING in some other alternative. Quite sure my chicken breast was topped with canned tomatoes. And I won'e even... More

I have been to this restaurant a number of times now, and it is one of my favorites. Usually, I go to this place on special occasions. As French restaurants go, it isn't particularly expensive. It has a nice menu with an Alsatian twist. They make wonderful red cabbage and spåtzle. The escargot is always nice, and the rabbit, an... More

French onion soup is a staple here. Mussels were very fresh and bursting with flavor. Steak cooked as ordered. Coq au vin was very nice and a great change of pace. Crab cakes were well done. Nice desert selection. Good service. Prices a little high but not too bad.

We enjoyed our meal in this cozy quiet restaurant. Nothing exceptional - the seafood stew was modest, the salmon was fresh as was the fish of the day. Portion size were adequate.

The wife and I have been coming in to Bistro Le Cep for several years. We have never had a bad experience. Inside, Le Cep has a comfortable provincial French feel. I think that that also is reflected in the menu. The food selection is not too fussy and more on the old-school country fare. I think that makes it... More

We were in Houston last week and enjoyed a dinner Thursday night with excellent service and very good food except for the cheesecake which tasted old. We went back Saturday and had service so mediocre(younger waiter) that it ruined the dining experience. My wife's dinner was still very good but my duck was dry and appeared to have been cooked... Even though this is in a strip center, this French restaurant feels like you're inside a home in France. The food is very good, and management seems very interested in making sure you're having a good experience.

I love great service and this restaurant had it. This was my first time to go to Bistro Le Cep, and I thought the restaurant had a cozy and charming atmosphere. My coffee cup was never empty and the servers checked on us numerous times throughout the meal. The dinner was wonderful. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and can... More
