The very first time I wet to this place I loved it, from walking up to the front door seeing a sign to knock so the staff can look out the window to check to make sure your not wearing a ski hood and Carrying...More

Well I'm just a bit disappointed in the food these days! They used to advertise the freshest ingredients for local Tex-Mex anywhere around. They used to have a really good chef! The food was ok, but nothing to "write home about". Cooking 101 - salt...More

In the heat of the summer, it can be brutal sitting in an enclosed open-air space. Add to that the problem of parking and you'd be better off driving to the Cadillac Bar and Grill. The menu is typical Tex-Mex.
Truman- We are sorry that you had some trouble finding a parking spot, and didn’t enjoy our atmosphere. We hope you will return and give us another shot.
We went on a Sunday night because a friend was playing there. We went for dinner and there was only about 25 people there, most were in the backyard waiting for the music. My appetizer was brought with with my dinner meal when the waite,r...More
As unique as they come. A band was playing as we arrived about 5 p.m., but they sent us on through to the restaurant to have dinner without paying the cover. Everyone was extremely welcoming and Carlos was a wonderfully personable waiter. Food was excellent....More
I prefer my fix for Mexican food in a laid back place without all of the people who need to see & be seen. Too often, some of the dishes that I crave are served only by the restaurants that have become overcrowded with people...More

Great food, super drinks and live music! First date heaven! Family friendly but not when the music starts! great place to sit and eat, drink and be merry all day! You have to knock on the door to enter! Limited parking on a dark street,...More

Went for the Sunday afternoon acoustic jam session. Drove to the place and wondered what I had gotten myself in to. Walked up...knocked on the door. Yes, that's right...knocked on the door. Turns out it is always locked but hey...at least someone let me in...More
Working late in East side of Houston I was looking for somewhere with decent food, close to the freeway. I had no idea what I was letting myself in for. You might call the neighborhood "transitional" with lofts, warehouses and empty lots. The premises are...More
Thanks for giving the oldest Tex Mex cafe in Houston a try. We pride ourselves in the "off the beaten path" adventure, and Tex Mex and live music made with love! We look forward to your next visit.
Another great dinner with perfect margaritas. Didn't have time for the live music out back but it's always been good in the past. We had not been for awhile. So glad to see the place is as fun as it's always been.
Paula- Thank you for the kind words and the 5 star review! We are glad that you enjoyed your dinner and margaritas, and we hope that you will stop in again.
