Excited to see Batanga was just around the corner from our hotel, The Magnolia. We did not know we were stumbling upon an incredible happy hour that was until 7pm. The pineapple mojito is a must and the hummus is the best I have ever had. The waiter was gracious and made us stop ordering at the beginning because all... More

I was in Houston and stopped by for a quick lunch at Batanga Tapas and Drinks. Service was cheerful and welcoming! The food was tasty and filling. I had the grilled cod tacos and Patatas Bravas . which are deep fried potatoes with a herb and paprika dusting! not too spicy but really tasty served with a chipotle aioli. Stop... More

We got a recommendation from a friend to go here during our visit in Houston. We got have tapas al fresco during Happy Hour on a warm January evening. I thoroughly enjoyed my mojito. Our food, which included the potatoes and plantains, was above par. They were a little slow getting some of our small plates to us, but we... More

We ordered a selection of tapas for lunch and everything was good. I can't wait to try the happy hour - I've heard they have good drinks and excellent prices for happy hour food. It's nice to have another good restaurant in the northern part of downtown.

If you've been to Spain or to a real tapas place in a real city, you'll be disappointed by what you find here. The food is generally decent and the portions more sizable than tapas are supposed to be but the cuisine has nothing to do with Spain. Essentially, they're serving a lot of appetizers from a lot of different... More

I visited Batanga during a company event and past experiences led me to believe this place was going to be terrible. This was quite the opposite! We had a larger group so I didnt expect overly great service, but I did expect better. The food was good and I tried at least have the menu with no complaints. I did... More

The menu was really imaginative, not the usual suspects. A lot of variety in Tapas and everything we had was delicious. Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. There was also entree options even a couple Paella dishes. The atmosphere was good for a romantic dinner, just enough privacy for conversation. Very wooded with natural colors made for a comfortable... More

My husband and I work downtown and work a lot of weekends. We love stopping by for brunch when we are in the office over the weekend. We like to sit out on their patio - which has umbrellas for shade. The service is always great. We have stopped by with friends and found it is a great place to... More

Tapas (small plates) restaurant featuring dishes from various regions of Spain, South America and the Caribbean, including Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, and more. We have live Latin music Wednesday - Sunday, including Salsa, Merengue, Samba and other Brazilian styles, and Flamenco during Sunday brunch. The music is also piped outside to our 3,600 square foot bricked patio--the largest in downtown Houston--which features thick stalk bamboo and lush greenery. The historic clock tower sits right outside our patio fence. It's a cool vibe.
