Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is, to us, absolutely THE best seafood restaurant in the entire city of Houston. My wife had her favorite, the Parmesan-crusted Sole, while I started with a mixed half-dozen east coast oysters (I'm not brave enough to eat Gulf oysters yet, as warm as...the waters have been). The east coast oysters are tiny, but both delicious and pricey. Then I had my favorite, the Chilean seabass prepared "old style." (The restaurant knows what you're ordering.) It is absolutely the most delicious fish dish I've ever eaten, bar none. Our server brought us a complimentary lemon tart for my birthday...absolutely fantastic! We'll be back again...soon and often!More

Enjoyed our dinner for four; good service and we were never rushed, but the misrepresentation in in their wine list and the inflated prices of their wine left a sour taste in my mouth. They have the AUSTIN Cabernet Sauvignon from the Austin Hope winery...listed at $64/bottle (retail $17) as the AUSTIN HOPE Cabernet Sauvignon which retails at $50/btl. Further down the wine list they have the latter listed at $148/btl., but both have the same name on the menu. I even tried to point this out to the wine manager at the table but she didn’t get it and I wasn’t going to argue about it at the table. While both wines are bottled by the Austin Hope winery in Paso Robles, they are bottled under different labels and the restaurant needs to know the difference and make sure what they list is accurate. I would have given five stars for our meal except for the misleading error with their wine list, and the unreasonable upcharge on their wine prices.More

WOW! What a FABULOUS night we had at Eddie Vs! We went for our daughter's 32nd Birthday, party of 6 adults. I called to make the reservation and requested a nice table in the bar so we could enjoy the live entertainment. Everything was perfect!...The table was decorated with rose petals, great table set up for 6 people. Our server BRITTANY was over the top excellent! We had several appetizers, drinks, wine, and a great dinner. They also brought out a champagne toast for our daughter's birthday. The ambiance was just what we wanted. Thank you to everyone at Eddie Vs for making our daughter's birthday dinner special!! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend Eddie Vs!More

I attempted to make a reservation here but was unable to do so online. I will try to call them to make the reservation the old fashioned way. Unfortunately, this means waiting until they open, then dealing with an overworked host who is trying to...also do his or her job getting people seated while you have them give you available times, etc. They really need to update their systems to keep up with other restaurants where you can make reservations online. It makes me wonder how well they handle other aspects of their operations if they cannot get a simple, customer facing thing to work, I will update this review if I am able to get a reservation.More

I went here for dinner with 2 work colleagues. It was the 2nd time at Eddie V’s. Great atmosphere and service, a very good steak tartare and some sea bass later I left a very happy person. Very much a place to come back to...for either seafood or steak.More

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Eddie V's. Between the food and the service that Joseph provided the experience was over the top. There were so many extraordinary touches to our dinner experience it will stay in our memory and hearts for ever....My husband had a steak while I enjoyed the butterfish. It was my first time having butterfish. It was good and had a layering flake. Very unlike any fish I have had before. My husband loved his steak which was very tender. We had the truffle macaroni and cheese which was delicious and the fried rice with pieces of lobster. That is BEYOND delicious. We are not from the area but have spoken about flying into Houston again just to dine here again. I can't recommend this restaurant enoughMore

Server was so busy trying to sell us everything that he lacked service. Food was good, not great. I have had better in many Houston restaurants. I guess its a chain thing. I would go back, but not if I was paying again😂

First, it was the most perfect dining experience I have had in my 57 years. It was my wife’s birthday. The care and quality of the staff and cuisine were better than superb. From the oysters on a half shell to the amazing experience in...the Lounge. It was beyond delightful. Anil personally made us feel welcomed into their home. Our server, Alicia, was skilled with every suggestion, and we LOVED the off-menu items. The dessert was astonishing and topped off the celebration.More

In every way -- OH MY GOSH!! -- this place is top notch and top class in every way!! The food was just incredibly delicious -- cooked and seasoned in a way that's indescribable! Many accolades to the chef, but also to our server, Walter....He is also top notch!! I ordered scallops which we found out they didn't have, but Walter did some magic and caused them to appear, and they were extraordinary! Just unbelievable. We so appreciated the manager who came to us personally to tell us about the scallops, also including Walter's magic act, and then he comped the scallops for us. What a night, and we were not even celebrating anything. If you go to this Eddie V's location just expect to be treated as royalty!More

It was our second year in a row dining here for Houston Restaurant Weeks and it was just as great as I remember. Most of our group split between either the Crispy Salt and Pepper Shrimp and the Maine Lobster Bisque as our starters. Both...were solid options, though I’d recommend the shrimp between the two. The sauce and thinly sliced veggies were a perfect touch to add a nice mix of flavors to the dish (sweet, but not overwhelming). The addition of the Chef’s Amuse Bouche, a small burrata+tomato+cucumber bite, was nice but nothing too special. Their raw oyster setup was great, with a very wide selection of options from across the country and a great trio of accompaniments. The most generous aspect of the meal, however, was the entree course. Getting a filet (without paying a supplemental fee) is already tough to come by with most HRW menus, but to get an 8 ounce option AND a side of mashed potatoes was more than we could ask for. The crust/seasoning on the steak was perfect, as it was just flavorful enough without being too charred or chewy. The White Truffled Mashed Potatoes were some of the best I’ve had in town. Rarely do I find myself finishing my potatoes, but these left me wanting more. We all pretty much finished our meal with the Bananas Foster Butter Cake, which was as good as it was presented. Overall, it was easily one of the most filling and worthwhile HRW experiences I’ve had in town. I’ll definitely be coming back again next year and hope to dine in with their regular menu soon as well.More

We were in the area and decided to stop in. We did not have reservations, it was a Friday about 7:00pm. The manager, Atul Kapoor found us a table and then checked on us several times during our time eating supper. Atul was very kind...and very helpful! The food is absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend the seafood tower, their steaks are cooked to perfection and very tender, and the Godiva Chocolate Explosion is the best!More

I expect you can and doubt it would cost anything extra. Call the restaurant, directly. They usually love to do that sort of thing.

Smart causal at a guess. I was in jeans and a casual shirt. At the bar it was very relaxed. Cannot recommend it enough. Enjoy!
